Personally, I don't mind if you pick up an email thread months or even years later. It happens ALL THE TIME in archives. Sometimes you think you're ready to tackle something, but you find out (surprise!) it's way bigger & more complex & emotionally loaded than you originally thought. That's okay!

Oh, and also: we need to normalize shame jubilees. We should hit the point where someone sends you an five month old email and they're like, "Hey, I'm finally responding because I'm on my shame jubilee" and you're like "Oh, that's awesome, I'm so glad you're having one right now!"

Just want to remind folks that this keeps happening. Burials of assumed-important ancients discovered to be women via genetic testing, after decades of them simply being assumed to be male. The patriarchy is incompatible with reality.

The #BronzeAge #UptonLovellShaman's burial in Wiltshire has long been considered an important religious figure & metalworker. It's been barely questioned someone of such status must be male. But now #aDNA analysis revealed that the body is in fact: a woman. 🏺 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Out-of-state folks who are thinking about visiting MN, your time is nearly here -- the Minnesota State Fair is just over a month away! It truly is an *experience* in Americana and in Minnesotan culture, and is totally worth a visit.

So I'm looking for ideas, Bluesky. Hit me up with your recs for free or inexpensive stuff that helps you take care of yourself and enjoy the process. Mental health, hygiene, fitness, nutrition, you name it -- if it makes meatsuit maintenance fun for you & costs under $50, I want to hear about it.

I keep finding Incredibly Niche Subreddits Full Of Helpful People and it's honestly great. Just thousands of people who are VERY passionate about a thing and realize they can use this superpower for good (impart some knowledge, make recommendations for complex needs or specific budgets, etc)

This is not really on-topic but I was looking for a quick rec on a cheap flashlight the other night and stumbled across r/flashlight, a 275K-member strong community of illumination enthusiasts where people were posting things like "This one is a gateway drug." It's a big, strange world out there.

In Minnesota, girls sell lemonade on the street to help their sisters arrested by ICE. Stephen Miller’s goons are very much still here. Sign reads, “Please help us raise money for my sisters because they were arrested by ICE” & this has been confirmed by trusted community members.

A jug of lemonade that reads “Please help us raise money for my sisters because they were arrested by ICE.”

Addt'l lessons from working at the renaissance festival: drink more water than you think you need, you're sweating more than you realize. Cool proactively with cooling cloths, frozen foods, etc -- it's easier to continuously manage than play catch-up. Frozen grapes in cold water = bliss. (1 of 2)

Only 2 days left on this art book about the protest signs of the ICE surge in MN. There have been some add-ons including every book now includes an art print, a sticker pack, and several artist's essays. #iceOUT #ProtestArt #RebelLoon
