It's telling that men would rather try to invent tech to replace humans' role in caregiving than step up as equal partners in parenting. Telling, that is, in that it shows how financial capitalism and patriarchy work together to dissuade men from doing "unprofitable" labor, like the work of care.

Over time, women have demanded that men both step up to do more of the caregiving and step aside to make room for women in "profitable" jobs. But what hasn't changed is the underlying incentive structure of financial capitalism and its devaluation of "unprofitable" labor like care.

i havent seen anything quite as spiritually absent as a cemetery with caskets that dont allow a body to decompose carrying people embalmed to never decay filling up mausoleums that cant be repaired all while decorated with fake, plastic flowers. million-dollar plots btw. what a godless place, sheesh

sometimes i think about how i looked into doing state gov work and backed out because part of doing any gov work is essentially giving up your right to free speech, and then i think about how many incredibly competent and qualified folks look into doing public service, see that caveat, and turn away
