The point is that we built an economy of hammers because we're only measuring how many nails are sticking up. And showing people charts of successful nail hammering doesn't matter if those well-hammered nails are in a piece of lumber that no one is using.

A spent SpaceX rocket is on track to hit the Moon at about 5,400 mph this Wednesday. This will be the second known time a rocket has unintentionally hit the Moon and both cases involve SpaceX hardware. Just saying.

Saltville Museum Couldn't find any more information on this find in Roanoke, but mammoths have been found at other salt licks, including Saltville, VA; Wythe, VA (Wytheville?); and Thomas Jefferson's favorite, Big Bone Lick, in KY. The first shipment of Jefferson's excavated bones is on the bottom of the Mississippi River, the boats having sunk. The author seems sold on Catastrophism; he would have loved Noah's Ark World or whatever it's called in Kentucky.

So, watched a screener for the new Spidey, I thought it was fine, maybe a B- I won't drop any spoilers (I went in pretty blind) , but I wasn't too happy with the villain situation or the non-spidey hero usage To my mind it is more of a bridge/connective tissue movie than a movie of its own. YMMV!

Catankerous mini tech rant: I really hate "reactions" in email. Is it really too much to type "Yes." or "OK." or "Sounds good." vs. sending a thumbs up? Especially for official comms. Emojis don't mean the same thing to everyone and we all know that thumbs up is sometimes hella passive aggressive.

My problem with Hank Green isn't necessarily AI use; it is putting out posts with unchecked or badly sourced info, which he has been guilty of for ages. It has been very hard to extend him grace for a bit now. That said, AI is a notoriously bad info source, and if you don't check your sources....
