Hi co-activation patterns people! I've been playing around with CAPs recently and wanted to sanity-check something. My understanding is that CAP vs. anti-CAP is usually interpreted not as "activation vs. no activation", but as two opposing configurations (two poles of the same fluctuation).

Interesting article on something I think is very relevant to open science: several teams analyzed the same ephys dataset and got quite different answers. Not because the analyses were bad, but because this kind of work involves many analysis choices, and those choices can change the result.

New paper out 🎉 Awake fUSI is powerful, but motion can strongly bias the data, even in head-fixed experiments. In this paper, we tried to systematically characterize those artifacts, benchmark denoising strategies, and turn that into practical recommendations for awake fUSI of mouse brains. 1/12

ty is incredible for diagnostics AND as a language server! Orders of magnitude faster than Pyright and will eventually replace it. Still need Pyright for on-hover info for now, but we're moving toward a complete Astral-backed Python environment! ⚡

Today, we’re announcing the preview release of ty, an extremely fast type checker and language server for Python, written in Rust. In early testing, it's 10x, 50x, even 100x faster than existing type checkers. (We've seen >600x speed-ups over Mypy in some real-world projects.)
