Did you know that for some people the symptoms of COVID-19 never went away? Years later many folks are still dealing with severe fatigue, brain fog, joint pain & loss of taste or smell. On MPR News I talked with a doctor & a public health leader about Long COVID. . www.mprnews.org/episode/2026...

Clicking Google's fun whimsical throwback logo today sends you to an AI chat pre-filled with a goofy prompt and immediately hits you with a warning that it is potentially dangerous to continue. You couldn't make a better commentary on how badly they have fucked up the internet if you tried.

Nurse Hammam saved countless lives while facing horrors in Gaza. Now, his own family is displaced, starving, and his brother is suffering from severe seizures without medical aid. A hero shouldn’t be left to suffer alone. Support him Please donate for food & medical care chuffed.org/project/1844...

Pretending the days after Sept. 11, 2001 were some kind of gauzy Hallmark special when we came together as a country is nauseating and ahistorical. The country went completely insane and has not recovered

Farah still is looking for about 200 to cover her legal fees. It's a lot. But she's still looking to get back her kids. She's struggling to even find someone to help get the money from her account that I keep for her because of her ex-husband leaving her. She is struggling so hard.

Some of you may remember that I host Farah's campaign too. Farah is suing her husband. Her husband took pretty much all her property, has custody of her kids and was cheating on her with another woman behind her back. Farah's suing. To get legal help she needs $500. chuffed.org/project/1651...

“this person is bad so their work was always bad” is also a really dangerous view to take because it leads to - unconscious or not - a bias towards “but I do like this other person’s work, ergo they must be a good person” which, as we have seen over and over, is simply not true

What happens a lot on social media is when someone (Warren Ellis, Neil Gaiman now Ed Brubaker) has allegations thrown at them people tend to leap out the woodwork saying "their work was never good." That helps no one as it's irrelevant. What matters is their actions and what they did.

hey, I was born in the 80s or 90s and I'm looking for a morally acceptable way to continue to like Harry Potter?? you see, I have this special condition where I just... stopped. somewhere along the way, i let the growth inside me die and i gnawed a hole in the past, and there i sit, and there i rot

have been saying this for a while etc. american hegemony and material power is exercised through culture, finance, and physical infrastructure. the failure of adequate resistance to planetary annihilation is in part because of the american control of planetary digital infrastructure.

The Lake Ontario/Lake America thing is a profoundly stupid version of it, but in millions of other subtler ways, we are force fed American values and American ideas about the world, because American companies like Google control the internet.

much as the murder of Brianna Ghey mysteriously stopped being about the climate of transphobia in the UK and became about teen access to social media, the death of Jason Arday is, equally mysteriously, no longer about racism and is becoming about free speech in academia
