My (dance-obsessed) daughter is watching an old episode of Strictly and there’s a guy in the credits called Lincoln Abraham. That’s the name of a fellow who’d go to a gun show and get hit with a theatre.

I lose it a bit when I try figure out what the Gardaí are telling us with their Bank Holiday operation stats. Yes, we know people are driving recklessly, instead of patting yourselves on the back for a few days enforcement, you've just broadcast how little is being done the rest of the time

Does this level of law breaking by drivers not suggest that we need Garda operations such as this one on a 24/7 basis & not just at bank holidays? "Between the period of Thursday 30 July – Tuesday 4 August 2026, a total of 169 people were arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant,

Slow as I am to engage in a tit for tat with the noisy neighbours (though I could provide many examples), you don’t get to call any other country ridiculous as long as you insist on parading a magic jewel hat to parliament & giving it a blinged-up carriage of its own. m.youtube.com/shorts/3G2yT...

I think we're generally much too chill about how mainstream and normal this weird, obsessive anti-Irish stuff is in the UK. #speirgorm

Richard Tice quoting a telegraph headline about Ireland being Europe's most ridiculous country.

I dunno if Rod Liddle’s going to get anyone at all protesting that nobody called him a dickhead while he was alive or that he was some modern-day awkward Jesus or that his body is barely cold. Hopefully not: man, he was a misogynistic racist homophobic piece of shit. Here’s Eamon Dunphy in 2005:

Haters focusing on Liddle's violence toward his pregnant partner, his galloping racism, or his repeated defences of paedophilia, should remember to mention he was also one of the worst writers to ever do it. A calorie-free hack of the first water. Just absolute dogshit, back to front.

It's no surprise I disagreed with his opinions, but he was actually that bad at writing that it was painfully clear that anyone who liked his work simply agreed with those opinions - or hated the people they'd annoy - and thus found it perfectly delicious someone had finally typed them up.

As a disabled person i was amazed at the amount of accessible options that suddenly became available. I really felt like it had changed the world for the better. Then it all just got taken away and the world moved on and left us behind. Alone. I actually felt genuine grief.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

“Terrifying” AND “frightening”? A tiny number of temporary Limerick street closures during one month so city dwellers & visitors can have some expanded urban recreational space & events. These lads would rather reign in hell than us have something nice. www.limerickleader.ie/news/busines...

Hey lads, we already asked the Taoiseach if the water use of data centres could be measured and he rightly threw a fit in the Dail about people not being able to use facebook and twitter if we did that. Just turn off the hoses and stop looking at data centres, they're fine, stop asking about it.
