over on nextdoor a guy named darryl has told me i'm a bad mother because i taught my three year old to "body shame" cybertrucks
the City of Boise's increasingly aggressive campaign against the state's repeated attempt to ban pride flags flown by cities is extremely funny
i have never seen a higher density of pride flags than in Boise
Vehicles with gas tanks larger than 16 gallons are primarily full-size pickups, large SUVs, & muscle cars that get 10-15 miles per gallon. Median cost of these vehicles ~ $70,000, if financed ~ $1300/month, plus insurance ~ $250 a month. But sure, complain about gas prices for your Sherman tank.
This wasn’t even full. 8647
"Did you even read the article" is always a funny scold because editors and producers know that most people only read heds or leads or watch clips, which means they know what message they want out there regarding the topic at hand. And they know the scolds will come to their defense of a dogshit hed
this is my new belief system btw i’m going chud but from an unexpected angle. ‘driving is soy’
you know what i fear? abandonment. good luck getting any mileage outta that one from the safety of your fruity lil death machine
i do not understand what the non-nefarious use case for this even is
New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
Let's remember some Baseball Injuries! I'll go first: Glenallen Hill having a nightmare about spiders that was so bad he fell out of bed and through a glass table
MLB players are the thoroughbred horses of the human world in that if you take your eye off them for a second they will get loose and find some completely novel Looney Tunes way to suffer a catastrophic injury
"Why don't more people talk about 'Sneakers'?" remains one of the central questions of our era
Saw someone insist that the downside of living in Parkmerced is that you HAVE to drive to get groceries and I'm just gonna go take a nap on Brotherhood Way
This is the last bipartisan consensus in America; basically everybody agrees that if you murder someone with your car it should be legal.
this guy (doomloop dispatch) literally killed a biker with his car… and he’s posting on twitter how it just made him even more anti-bike lane. The NIMBYs are not OK.

Ford Remotely Shut Off This Brand-New Bronco Over ONE Late Payment, On Busy Expressway
Ford's remote-disable patent details a system that could lock out borrowers or repossess vehicles autonomously - and the underlying tech already exists.

trying to explain on nextdoor why kids are riding around in packs on bicycles and they do not like me defending the kids because they have nowhere to go. they don't care about creating spaces for them. they are all just calling the cops. deranged people
Something you notice when you read a lot of stories about traffic violence is how often a witness will talk about the fact that a particular road has seen a lot of crashes or speeding. We know some streets are particularly dangerous and yet no action is taken. That's why these are not accidents.
Love that the 7-11 worker in the video who witnesses these crashes all the time, knows that the problem is the street design. If only our local leaders and city staff GAF.
Bartender: …oh do you want to try that one? Guy: Well I used to brew German style beers in the tradition of Reinheitsgeb- Bartender: DO YOU WANt to try that one
These people are fucking evil and I’m tired of hedging on that point.
I’m sorry what
I personally think it’s great that we are inventing guys that the X-Men are supposed to fight
There's no way Bryan Johnson could possibly get any creepier than he already- hang on, I'm getting a note
Things like this make me unreasonably angry. Actually, no: reasonably angry. Many drivers have the attitude that street safety doesn't matter because bad outcomes will happen to other people, not them. They can even kill someone and keep their license.
This is peak both sides bullshit, because bike lane opponents don't care about "creating safe streets for everyone." They care about parking and being able to speed. And they draw false equivalences between drivers and bikers that car-brained pundits like Joan Venocchi lap up eagerly. Such garbage.
DoorDash trying to end home rule for 700,000 people over a TWENTY CENT FEE
In a statement, DoorDash tells me that the council passed the "arbitrary" new fee without holding any hearings. "We have always supported home rule for D.C.," says the company. "But will continue to defend D.C.'s small businesses, local economy, and underserved residents."
