Aug 4, 2026 is the date on which Ray Bradbury's short story "There Will Come Soft Rains" takes place. The story revolves around a smart home that keeps on "living" even after its inhabitants die in a nuclear holocaust. Read it here: www.btboces.org/Downloads/7_...

Multiple Horse Theory only continues to get funnier
TikTok has incredible moderation team. Our InfoWars video about Multiple Horse Theory — the idea that there are many horses in the world and not just one — has been fully deemed misinformation and lost the formal appeals process. Confirmed by Larry Ellison: There is only one horse on Earth.
I’ve somehow survived all my life without using DoorDash. No reason for that to change.
DoorDash, in damage control mode, now claims it supports D.C. home rule and denies lobbying against it. Here’s the letter their lobbyist wrote to Rep. Comer supporting his bill to ban D.C. from ever imposing or increasing a tax or fee without congressional approval. hillheat.com/files/492/DD...
In the before times, I would have laughed knowing how quickly SCOTUS would slap down the absurd argument the U.S. is making. Not any more.
And from the appendix: Men do not increase their partnership rates, but if they’re in relationships they leave their partners instead!
GLP-1-induced weight loss increases single women's partnership rates by 29 percentage points and non-employed women's employment rates by 27 percentage points after 1.5+ years, from Rebecca Diamond www.nber.org/papers/w35387

Crucial point: Gasoline prices spiked under Biden because of something Putin did. Gasoline prices spiked under Trump because of something Trump did.
Rep. Jacobs: "The national average of gas...is now over $4/gallon." Waltz: "Americans are better off not paying the highs of $5 under the last administration." Rep. Jacobs: "That happened for three weeks during the Ukraine war. It's been over $4 for more than three months just this year."
I’ve always been a hardcore Oxford comma stan, but honestly, things can be way funnier without them.
Think a 'David' is at risk of becoming the collective noun for sad poems. After yesterday's poem I promised to post a funny poem today This one by Brian Bilston shows the importance of traditional punctuation conventions The audacity of the final stanza 😁 #poetry #poemoftheday
Helluva story and great investigation following the money and influence flowing through Texas politics and all levels of our government. If this is what “drain the swamp” looks like, I’d hate to see a full one. @jlbuch.bsky.social @benwermund.bsky.social @ajcorchado.bsky.social Gift 🎁

Ruben Garibay's push for a new trade bridge has won support from U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and other powerful leaders. But local critics worry it's a boondoggle.

Larry laid his mouse in front of the press to be photographed. Lest you ask, this is a real photograph via the Press Association.
“Parasites,” like “leeches,” “cockroaches,” and increasingly the misuse of “terrorists,” are terms meant to justify violence against a group. Shame on the Atlantic for publishing that sub headline.
*Parasites* ??? Really, @theatlantic.com ? We get it, you love centrism, but dehumanizing language is never ok.
💯. The “you just need to show any id” disinformation campaign is massive. Here in Texas, as with most states, REAL IDs are not verification of citizenship.
The SAVE America Act mandates that all voters must bring to the polls specifically a photo ID which has proof of citizenship “on the front of the document.” So REAL IDs don’t count. If the ID does not precisely conform to that standard, you must also bring separate proof of citizenship.
To be clear: what he's talking about is a limited-time "Pasta Pass" which Olive Garden sold allowing unlimited visits with unlimited pasta (& breadsticks) over a 3 month period, but which is nontransferrable. But there is no constitutional right to Fettuccine Alfredo. www.abc27.com/national/oli...
Scalise: "For God's sake -- you can't get pasta at Olive Garden without a picture ID! Why not be able to show a picture ID to vote?"
My first thought: why are all those giant hotdogs floating down a river

I have to say, I've seen this scene in church a couple of times, and normally that's the point where you find the SO or children and say "we need to have a very serious conversation about more comprehensive memory care living"
