I worry a lot about lowered expectations and narrow reform agendas. Not just from the centrists, but the left also tends to constrain the list of demands. The Trumpies broke so much, so fast. Are we prepared to push back with the same energy and intensity?

Pure war crimes. This is why Trump administration wants to dismantle the ICC, because when Dems win office, they could vote to rejoin the ICC - and immediately send Trump, Rubio, Vance, Hegseth et al to go on trial.

Trump: "Next week comes the power plants, next week comes the bridges. We're gonna knock out all their power plants, we're gonna knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate."

I don't know what to call the specific political tendency represented by Ryan Grim, Ken Klippenstein, Matt Stoller, Michael Tracey, Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, and Zaid Jilani, mostly because words sort of fail, but it isn't "the Left."

The speed with which psychotic Al Franken stans use the Platner situation to claim their man was done wrong because he wasn't a rapist is...something. Why is everybody in such a rush to re-set the bar that low?

Not enough people are talking about how a real working class candidate wouldn't have had the time to do 70 something Town Halls because they have jobs they need to show up for. That's where the "Working" part of "Working Class" comes from.

One thing I would love is if, when a straight white guy “sees the light” and joins the left, he would volunteer for a community group and like knock doors for someone who’d been on the left for ages instead of immediately wanting to be the candidate. It’d be like a litmus test for if they’re serious

Obviously this is a dipshit opinion. But since I sometimes see people on the left rolling their eyes about those signs, I just want you all to know that the other night some lost Black teens came to our house after taking the wrong bus and we were able to get them home. Why’d they pick us? Signs.

Vance: People hang out those hideous signs in their yard that say, "in this house we believe blah blah blah blah blah. You know, love is love, science is science, whatever. No person is illegal." That sign is such a disgusting butchering of the Nicene Creed

campus 'civility' is just 'don't yell at me while I fire you, get rid of your program, and continue to fund the university's investments'. it's training in smug comfort for the comfortable
