What boot theory is online is not really policy but a bunch of people who have formed some portion of their identity around the quality of goods they buy who also want to be supportive of the poor and are trying to figure out a way to reconcile the two.

In short: it hasn't been possible for a while really for the USA to 'win' this war (barring unforeseen events), but it is still very possible for Iran, the GCC, the Middle East, and/or the global economy to *lose* this war and lose it badly. 'Mutual ruin' is always an option in war.

“Liberals will always choose fascism over socialism” is one of this website’s conventional ways of saying “I am stupid and I prefer reading the opinions of other stupid people”. It is good when stupid people self-identify, so we should not complain when they do so 
But fundamentally having a republic of laws and equal citizens is more important than the marginal tax rate and also MAGA has stupid ideas about taxes too. So save the republic first, argue about the marginal tax rate later.
In the USA, there used to be a space on the right for a 'conservative' that was looking to conserve the liberal foundations of the Constitution and see them more fully realized. But that's gone now and I have more in common with AOC *by far* than with MAGA.
The two even cross over, with professional podracer and former slave Anakin Skywalker somehow commanding in half the battles in the Clone Wars before later becoming a Vader. The accounts are clearly either pure fabrication or consolidating multiple individuals.
