On Aug. 3, 1981, 13,000 Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (PATCO) members decided to strike for safer work conditions, reliable equipment, adequate staffing levels, and fair work and pay rules. Two days later, President Ronald Reagan fired all striking controllers.

Watching people try to assign normal motives and rules to anyone in Trump II reminds me of that John Carpenter quote from I think THE THING DVD, about bad casting. “You can’t beat or fix bad casting. You can only get *through* it.” (from memory, sorry)

The place I am constantly exposed to AI writing is the "daily life where I live" video content from people who do not speak English. I love this stuff - I love seeing glimpses of life around the world, yes even the carefully curated stuff. But the AI-written English captions and voiceovers are ugh.

Paramount + has You Can't Do That On Television. The last time I watched this show was back in the 80s. This show is where I got a lot of my humor. To this day, whenever I see a blue sky, I quote the show. "Blue skies! Barry burgers! Girls!"
