Saw a post saying "I don't want NSFW accounts to talk about voting, just let me jack off" Buddy, NSFW artists and sex workers are being constantly attacked by a government of nonces trying to distract from their own crimes by pinning the blame on porn. They have the right to speak up about this.

nine people working on the game you say... so psyched to be joining crescent county + electric saint as a freelance narrative designer!! it's honestly a project + team of dreams - i can't wait for everyone to see it (* ̄∇ ̄)ノ you can also still late-back the kickstarter if you want to support it! 💕

A screenshot of the Kickstarter post from the quoted post. It says that production for the game has rampsd up and that they have recruited new team members - there is an arrow pointing to the name 'Ellis Devereux, Narrative Designer' with a surprised cat meme and a meme of a surprised guy pointing at himself.

Other names include: Anna Hollinrake, Creative Director; Jose 'Pepe' Fabregat, Technical Lead; Jonas Gaw, Community Manager; Jay Broderick, Technical VFX Artist; Caitlyn Gn, Environment Artist; Jed Ives, Vehicle and Hard Surface Artist; Shayleen Hulbert, Senior Character Artist; and Roland Thomas, Level Designer

You know what I'm not a game developer. I'm a game marketing and community manager. Delaney is right. I struggle to grasp the scope of game development AND I've only ever worked in-studio, directly with devs. Imagine the disconnect between dev-publisher or dev-marketing agency.

'How to develop a game' is a set of skills and requires a level of experience that 'games business' just has zero fucking concept of.

Since we're through July, time for a games industry layoff update. Here is what we know 🥸more than half the waves in 2026 have unknown headcounts 🧮2026 is already the second worst year on record for both known layoff headcount, and known layoff waves 💩It is not getting better. It is getting worse

We enjoy doing things when our survival doesn't depend on the monetary value of our production And for some (a gamer subset) when they don't have attachments to our day to day life. Sure game gardening can lead to IRL gardening, but they are parallel and don't scratch the same itch.

God bless the weird mod trend that I keep seeing called "immersive masochism." Yes, of course it's a good idea to simulate the process of troweling on mortar and placing one brick at a time instead of a cubical "brick block"

Screenshot of the Brick-by-Brick mod for Vintage Story.
Image shows a cartoony version of a bricklayer making a wall in the middle of a field, with an afternoon sun and birch trees in the distance.

Brick-by-Brick
Brick-by-Brick makes masonry a hands-on building process. Instead of placing a finished brick block all at once, you use a trowel, mortar, and individual bricks to build it in stages.

This is still a somewhat rough prototype. The main idea is working, but there are large improvements planned if people enjoy the concept and want to see it developed further.
