Bluesky oldheads will remember that brief period of time when the conservative trolls tried to storm the place and were flummoxed by the idea they would have to organically grow an audience and that someone who didn't want to talk to them could nuke every interaction they ever had from orbit

Apropos of nothing, I am increasingly convinced that many American progressive accounts on bluesky are just a psy-op intended to sabotage international sympathy for Americans from people in the rest of the world who are opposed to fascism. At this point it's the more plausible explanation.

What would you recommend to a fussy weirdo who loves Disgaea 1 but didn't really enjoy any of the sequels (2, 3, 4, too much faff added) or spin offs. I did quite like La Pucelle. Gotta be something nice looking with grids, simple skills, a bit of story and chasing big numbers...

If you can catch the last 2 days of Ramp on the Roof in Manchester, do. The pro demo was incredible. I've only seen this level of skating on TV, but it's breathtaking live 💙 I know I'm forgetting some... highlights were Oliver Holm, Hampus Winberg, Viktor Solmunde and George O'Neill.

Three skaters on the vert at once. Top of the ramp, multiple skatersOliver Holm - I think! - looked on by Winberg Skater at the peak of the vert, much air, forgot who because I'm terrible

(For the girlies who don't really think of marketing like that -- minimalistic, "classic" packaging on more expensive goods is meant to minimize guilt around the price by evoking a sense of tradition and understated quality. It works best during periods when people are loath to spend extra.)

Creating this platform from scratch means we put a lot of energy and thought into the core architectural design. We could draw from our experience, revisit scenarios and edge cases, and tailor it to support the new vision -and in a collaborative app like this, sync is a fascinating problem to solve.

Although Tarinoi is a webapp built for real-time collaboration, we decided to make it offline-first from the start. It wasn't trivial but it is so very much worth it. I wrote up a devblog about it. tarinoi-works.com/blog/offline...

1000xRESIST is now firmly in the top slot for “games that have made me cry the most.” great videogame. it’s about so many different things and yet it all comes together so well, like a poem.

many of the early and most successful game designers and developers were women most people don't remember their names today, or recall that video game history started before the Boys Toys era funny that many of the games I grew up loving most were designed by women and I never knew til years later

I think about King's Quest a lot. Distinct childhood memory of overhearing a middle-aged woman at church telling my mom about how much she loved kings quest. This was like circa 1995? games used to be for everyone until nintendo/sega marketers turned them into Action Toys For 12 Year Old Boys

Nobody ever explained to me what a passkey is or how they work. Websites just started asking me for passkeys like it's something we talked about.
