Calling it a bubble is to miss the point. Go to where a community suits you, and where you suit the community. Where you can get what you want. I don’t want fights any more. I want facts, freedom and fun - peppered with interesting information. Is that a bubble? Maybe, but a good one. 4/4

He cites users' ability to mute & block folks as a positive, which is good. It's also why right wing chuds thankfully can't get a foothold here - b/c they violate community norms & get nuclear blocked out of normal people's timelines. Bluesky isn't a *liberal* bubble - it's a *decency* bubble.

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

I don't think you are specieist if you take on a more holistic ecosystem perspective on islands (or consider the land ethic). Check out the book by fellow blueskyer @cepaea.bsky.social I think the case of brown rats wrecking island ecosystems is a very good demonstration of where animal rights

Evidently people who hold animal rights or compassionate conservation views (the same ideology) will view this as a moral issue. In their view I am a speciesist, which in a way I am. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Species...

I strongly believe in giving the man a chance. But keeping Shabana Mahmood as Home Secretary suggests the vicious attacks on immigrants and refugees, and self-defeating attempts to outrun the far right, are likely to continue. Which is pretty damn depressing. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Shabana Mahmood’s new rights clampdown looks outlandish until we remember that this kind of hardline action is part of our country’s fabric, says George Monbiot

The cognitive dissonance is real. I want to see icecold viking domination but "it's coming home" has been constantly running in my brain. Heja Norge! 🇳🇴🇫🇴🇳🇴🇫🇴🇳🇴
