btw if you’re ticked at AIPAC for whatever reason them spending a maximum amount of money to barely lose is ideal, 10/10, just as a pure matter of don’t-know-ball and forward outcome for them as an organization. this cycle has been catastrophic for them purely in terms of inputs and outputs

second big state Senate upset—not only has Groff-Blaszak won, Ingham County Commissioner Mark Polsdofer has lost to MSU prof Rashida Harrison for Lansing-area SD-28, despite having a ton of endorsements incl. the outgoing incumbent and the mayor of Lansing

state Rep. Phil Skaggs is in trouble in the SD-30 primary, it looks like, despite having every endorsement one could want. Grand Rapids BoE president Abbie Groff-Blaszak is currently smushing him—with only Grand Rapids in, so he could turn it around

A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…

some more state House results of note—in addition to DSA taking down Helena Scott in Detroit, Skaggs's Grand Rapids-area seat was won by Lily Cheng-Schulting, a progressive he beat in a primary four years ago, and Kalamazoo's HD-41 went to progressive Jen Strebs over moderate Jessica Swartz

Looks like a 10-15 point polling miss in Michigan regardless of who wins. And people have been writing a lot of electability takes using this data. It’s dangerous out there folks be safe

When he was Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Rogers (the Republican candidate for Senate in Michigan) publicly took the position that "you can't have your privacy violated if you don't know your privacy is violated." Colbert had some fun with that: crooksandliars.com/cltv/2013/10...
