@falsemachine.bsky.social Hey, maybe I'm a peanut-brain, but how does the Fugue State Touch in DCO actually work? I'm having trouble figuring out how to narrate it for when/if the PCs free the [spoiler].
TTRPG AI Blocklist day! No big updates. Same situation as always, if you think i made a mistake, let me know. If you think I missed someone, let me know.
It's funny as hell to play a character who smokes, drinks, or does drugs, because I'm a good little NB and have zero to extremely little experience with any of these, so every time my character's habits come up, I mentally feel like I'm going "hmm yes, one alcohol, please" the entire time. #ttrpg
Last session I did that thing where the GM asks the players to describe the scene, or what they find while searching and such. The response was laughs, complaints, confusion, and "you're the GM! Not me!" It's nice to get my beliefs verified, this is exactly what I thought would happen. #ttrpg
I bet that story is wrong, I think he actually cut the baby in half.
Normalize NOT putting treasure down the toilets in your dungeons. #ttrpg
Realizing how funny it will be to run Deep Carbon Observatory when a good chunk of the module has waist high water, and a good chunk of the party are shorter than that. #TTRPG Has anyone else ran it before? How did it go? What are your thoughts on it? What should I look out for as the GM?
asmr where i walk you through character creation in a ttrpg you've never played before and i keep telling you your ideas are really interesting but you character is going to be nonviable and your fellow party members might hate you for it
Friday is a special day in Norwegian society. It's the boundry between snart helg and helg. Usually we cross it around 16:00-17:00. But for some unlucky people, it's never helg.
When your gamedev friend shows you progress on their new engine.
We got someone in the server falsely reporting a bunch of people, and I got dinged, so now I have to communicate with people like a ghost writing on the bathroom mirror.
The people in my FFXIV FC are getting antsy about playing ttrpgs again. I ran Broodmother Skyfortress for them last time, and they managed to take over the skyfortress, mostly by severely damaging everything (including themselves) with fall damage. I'm thinking Deep Carbon Observatory next.
The apotheosis of this is the One Page RPG (often sold as a trifold pamphlet), a module with barely any content for a game with barely any rules. They’re always an elevator pitch for a TTRPG pretending to be a full product.
when did selling you rules you already knew but less of them become a selling point in indie ttrpgs, for real
it's simple! elementary, even! you see, I simply don't use AI because I'm not an abject fucking loser
hey thanks for screenshotting that person's hateful/bigoted/upsetting tweet and posting it here. i actually muted that person by accident on the other site who's URL i also forgot, and i intentionally make my life worse by keeping up to date on their thoughts so i appreciate you sharing it here
Thinking about the John Oates ass vampire on the cover of the Chill Vampires expansion book again
People trying to explain to me why dice towers are useful actually, while I weld their iron sarcophagus shut and with the help of three volunteering strongmen push it off of the boat into the depths of the north sea.
"And, for an instant, she stared directly into those soft blue eyes and knew, with an instinctive mammalian certainty, that the exceedingly rich were no longer even remotely human." - Count Zero (William Gibson, 1986)
Was at the dentist, fixing a hole in my tooth. Dentist has the radio on a music channel the whole time. He sets things up, vacuum in my mouth, gets the drill ready. I open wide. Song changes. I start getting my teeth drilled to fucking Eye of the Tiger, and it's the scariest experience of my life.
the thing about "separating the art from the artist" is that it comes from academic circles where they were trying to separate an artist's views from an interpretation of their work as an intellectual exercise, not as a way to give people moral carte blanche to support shitty people
Five clay dogs buried under a palace doorway at Nineveh around 645 BC. Each one has its name written on its side in cuneiform. Expeller of evil. Catcher of the enemy. Biter of his foe. Loud is his bark. Don't think, bite. That last one is an instruction, written on the dog, addressed to the dog.
Cleared P8S unsynched yesterday, which raiders probably won't be impressed by, but I am dogshit at anything higher than Normal and can barely do extremes from two years ago. The people from my FC were so nice and patient with me even though I felt like I was messing up the whole time. #ffxiv
