It’s the same argument for health care: Even if I cared only about myself, I wouldn’t want to live in a community where people are sick and dying on the streets and giving me their transmissible diseases. A social safety net is good for EVERYONE, even those who don’t need to use it right now.

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

The vibes may be exciting, but if Democrats are going to win this year and in 2028, they must reject the DSA. If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.

Also, I do not wish to suggest I am a "solved problem" in terms of biases/issues/etc - we are all works in progress. I'll be trying to turn myself in a better and more decent human hopefully for decades to come.

The Ohio Democratic party is censoring its own members from criticizing Amy Acton. This even includes the Pride Caucus chair who has to criticize her from their personal capacity. They've threatened to kick caucuses out that formally criticize Acton over her transphobic positions.
