I'm filled with snark and basically my whole life has been about pretending to have magic one way or another. Bi, he/him

I had to code and pronounce a time of death on a respiratory therapist colleague. There's a memorial plaque for her outside the emergency department to this day. I wrote and re-wrote my will. I will never forgive these ghouls trying to rewrite history and deny our experience.

RFK Jr said these words today on national television "There were ICUs that were empty all over the country including in New York at the height (of the pandemic)" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha You are a fucking idiot hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha <sobs silently>

Rowling signed the Harper’s Letter, which lamented, “it is now all too common to hear calls for swift and severe retribution in response to perceived transgressions of speech and thought.” Are ANY of her co-signatories — some follow me — going to speak up about her crusade against trans people?

Sheryl Weikal says Prosecute ICE@leftistlawyer.com · 4d ago

Amnesty International correctly called out Rowling's transphobia. She threatened them in response. And @amnesty.org surrendered. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social · 6d ago

i don't believe anyone has "good-faith" concerns about trans women in sports in 2026. there's been too much time to hear the actual evidence, the actual people affected, and the role the debate plays in attempts to purge trans people from American life. anybody picking that side has made a choice

Mamdani is a Democrat. AOC is a Democrat Troy Jackson is a Democrat Bernie Sanders is a Democrat when he wants anything to actually happen. They’re all Democrats, it’s a big party, they’re not suddenly un- Democrats because they did something good, or because another Dem doesn’t agree with them.

The internet treats Democrats the way literary snobs treat science fiction They know very little about it, but confidently proclaim it’s all shit Unless it’s good Then it’s not *really* SF, don’t you know We’ve all invested too much in our wise superiority to praise *that* sort of rubbish!

I have never seen a US government as corrupt and anti-democracy and racist and genuinely wicked as this one. At the same time, I've never seen my neighbors and colleagues as mobilized and politically active and determined to make a difference. We are going to win. All you fascists bound to lose.

Also, I do not wish to suggest I am a "solved problem" in terms of biases/issues/etc - we are all works in progress. I'll be trying to turn myself in a better and more decent human hopefully for decades to come.

The Ohio Democratic party is censoring its own members from criticizing Amy Acton. This even includes the Pride Caucus chair who has to criticize her from their personal capacity. They've threatened to kick caucuses out that formally criticize Acton over her transphobic positions.

Holding the Line: An Update on the Fight for Trans Rights and Accountability in Ohio
Over the last couple of weeks, our community has taken some incredibly painful hits from people who are supposed to be our allies. Hearing a statewide candidate validate anti-trans narratives and write off our rights as "settled law" is a flat-out betrayal. Let’s be entirely clear: absolutely no boys are playing in girls' sports. Trans girls are girls, trans boys are boys, and transphobia and misgendering must be condemned, regardless of which political party it comes from. The anger out there right now is completely justified.
A lot of you have reached out asking why I haven’t made a loud public statement yet, especially given my role with the Pride Caucus. I want to be very clear: the public quiet right now is not compliance. It’s strategy.
Behind the scenes, the work hasn’t stopped for a single day. I, along with many other advocates, have been on the phone constantly with state party leadership, coordinating with allied organizations, and pushing back hard. We are forcing these conversations to happen, and we are not going to let this campaign run out the clock or sweep this under the rug hoping we just forget about it.
The harm was done in public, and I believe that requires a public resolution. I will not settle for vague, backroom promises. We are demanding real, public accountability and an absolute respect for our community's right to exist. Anything less is completely unacceptable.

Disclaimer: To be entirely transparent, I am posting this strictly in my capacity as a trans advocate, a legislative candidate, and a trans Ohioan living this reality every day. I am not writing this on behalf of, or as a representative of, my official role as Vice Chair of the ODP Pride Caucus. So, to the ODP compliance team: you can save yourselves the phone call, because I will not be taking this down.

1. In major news, the Ohio Dem Party has banned the Progressive Caucus from criticizing candidate for Gov. Amy Acton's transphobia. It has now applied more pressure to quiet criticism of anti-trans politics than it has on its own nominee to stop embracing them. Subscribe to support our journalism.

I don't like that larper has become a new insult, considering larping is an actual cool and niche hobby, and we already had words like poser or performative loser.

Y'all, if you have ever wondered what it would like like for the federal government to tell you what you are/not allowed to read and thought "screw that," now is the time to say so. Sign this letter. Send a postcard. Call your senators. This is a nightmare scenario. Don't let it pass.

American Library Association@amlibraryassoc.bsky.social · 3w ago

NEW: A federal book banning bill has been introduced in the Senate. It's time to make our voices heard. Tell your Senators to REJECT pro-censorship legislation like S. 4925 that would limit the freedom to read! We need every advocate to speak out against censorship: action.ala.org/campaign/S4925

Show up for our libraries. ALA 150, American Library Association.

genuinely: if 18 year old kids are allowed and encouraged to go into hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt, a 15 year old kid should be allowed to pick what puberty they want give trans kids hormones, actually

The court has simply recreated the pre-Brown world in allowing racial discrimination across a broad number fields as long as it is “facially neutral,” gutting the Reconstruction Amendments in the process.

please continue injecting this shit into my veins after literal decades of “suck it losers” preening from republicans every time they get called out for horribly gerrymandered bullshit the shoe is on the other foot and I simply cannot get enough you want to end this? unfuck your own districts too

Rep. Byron Donalds: "Look what they did to Northern Virginia. If you look at their new map, they basically take pieces of Northern Virginia and strip them out to the suburbs and rural Virginia to make Democrat seats. I mean, this is insanity."
