This review began with the great Peter Hagoort asking after one of my talks: "What have we actually learned about the brain from brain–DNN comparisons?" 🔥 So eye-opening to survey NeuroAI work across vision and language--many questions have been answered in one field but remain open in the other!

1/5 Over a decade of comparing deep neural networks to the human brain—but what have we actually learned? Our new @cp-trendscognsci.bsky.social Feature Review synthesizes a decade of brain–DNN comparisons, asking what they reveal about brain function across vision and language.

We were nominated for the Best Research Environment Award 2026 by @jungeakademie.bsky.social & @volkswagenstiftung.de Grateful and looking forward meeting the other amazing shortlisted teams on June 27th 🤝

I recently created this overview of fMRI datasets for visual reconstruction, aimed at AI/ML people. Originally this was a 2018 post on a now inactive PhD lab blog. I had drafts expanding it for long time and thought now it's about time. RFC and feel free to share :) github.com/seelikat/neu...

I am excited to share our latest research published in the EJEP! We used GAMMs to apply Rose’s theoretical work to prevention strategies targeting social isolation. Our results indicate that population strategies are more promising than individualized interventions.
