@snacksrule.bsky.social

don’t bother me

Google's disruptive idea to "let's completely fuck everything that made this company valuable, like seriously, just blow it to hell" seems to not be working out long term for some reason

google earnings call today, they had to admit their own AI was killing search and ads revenue, literally their core traditional blue chip business. negative cash flow for the first time ever. would you like to guess how that went over

there has been a massive ai sell off in the stock market the past couple weeks -- aside from oil prices, it seems directly related to this. development has plateaued while at the same time massive risk is being exposed. the php vulnerability really put the fear of god in these mfs lololol

"a Swiss hacker whose online identity is maia arson crimew" i guess so wapo, my mom does also call me that tho as it is simply my name. also i feel like hacker is a bit reductive in a story where i did 0 hacking, but did over a hundred hours of journalistic source and data work.

An activist group published a searchable database of more than 41,000 DHS employees and contractors, exposing the identities and contact information for immigration officers, border agents and undercover investigators, according to documents posted online.

Much easier for the media to lock in on faux Cheesecake Factory outrage than a House Dem report indicating Todd Blanche basically told Ghislaine Maxwell "stop talking" when she was about to discuss a girl that could more closely tie Trump to Epstein

I emailed Patrick Healy, assistant managing editor for standards and trust at NYT, to ask why their story about a House report with new details of rape allegations against the President of the United States included neither those details, nor a single use of the word "rape." archive.is/1s9AM

Hi Patrick-

I'm reaching out regarding a story NYT published yesterday by Michael Gold titled "Democrats Call for Special Counsel to Scrutinize Trump ties to Epstein." It's about a report published yesterday by the House Judiciary Democrats further detailing President Trump's ties to Jeffrey Epstein and new details about allegations of rape against Trump.

One such allegation is from a Swiss model named Beatrice Keul, who the report says alleges in 1993 Trump "grabbed Keul from behind and forcibly raped her; in the process, tearing her dress and causing bleeding and bruising on multiple parts of her body.” These details are new, yet they didn't appear anywhere in Gold's story. In fact, the word "rape" does not appear in the story even once, despite multiple allegations. The story seems much more focused on the timing of the reports—a week before Election Day—and much less concerned with the gruesome details.

As someone who read all 53 pages of the report, I would like to understand NYT's avoidance of the word "rape" in a story about a report concerning rape allegations. If you could explain the rationale, I think it would be quite useful for me and for others.

Thank you,
Marisa

“In the classroom, [educator Ebony Webster] has noticed students asking for more food, or for leftovers of a friend’s meal. Sometimes the free school meals are the only ones students get, she said… With SNAP access decreasing, she has seen an increase in community need for food pantries.”

Cuts to SNAP benefits have profoundly impacted children and families. The effects are stretching beyond homes and into schools. For @ms.now, I reported on how SNAP cuts are impacting schools, educators working to close gaps, and what experts say about the need for free school meals for all.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.

BEATRICE KEUL – 24 YEARS OLD
In November 1993, Beatrice Keul, a young Swiss model and financial services
professional, was recruited by a woman named Jill Harth to attend the Donald J. Trump American
Dream Pageant for 16- to 22-year-olds in Atlantic City and New York.48 According to an interview
with Committee Staff,49 at a press luncheon at the event in then-Trump-owned Plaza Hotel, Donald
Trump approached Keul and introduced himself, saying “Finally we meet Ms. Keul,”
mispronouncing her last name as “cool.” During their at least 15-minute introductory conversation,
Trump promised Keul that he would arrange a visa for her, stating that “Paolo”—a reference to
Paolo Zampolli—would “take care of that.” Trump further stated that he personally would ensure
her acceptance into New York University (NYU). And he repeatedly offered to take care of her
and arrange her travel, insisting either “I will take care of you” or, when she said she could handle
her own visa, “No no, my friend Paolo will take care of that.”
According to Keul, after Trump stepped away from their conversation, Epstein
immediately approached her saying “I’m Jeffrey, Don’s best friend.” Epstein then spent at least 10
minutes talking to Keul, all the time looking over and grinning at Trump, who had remained in the
room and was watching their conversation from afar. Epstein also made similar promises as Trump
and asked Keul to attend a party at Mar-a-Lago in the coming months, saying, “You know I can
take care of you. We organize many parties with Don.” Epstein, like Trump, stated that all of her
needs would be met: “Flights, accommodations, you don’t have to worry about anything.”

Later that day, Donald Trump’s representative invited Keul to go upstairs at the Plaza Hotel
to meet with Trump. Believing this meeting to be a lucky brea…

You’re right. You asked for a sketch from Mercer, and I gave you invented bar heights. Labeling them “illustrative” doesn’t make that appropriate. I should have obtained the actual data or told you I couldn’t access them.
