Piers Morgan “Mohammed, do you condemn the Hamas attacks on October the 7th?” Mohammed Hijab “Yes, I do. Do you condemn Israel killing over 1000 kids?” Piers Morgan “I believe Israel has a right to defend themselves” That answer should be on the tombstone of his career.

We don't talk about immigrants enough. We don't talk about how they pay more taxes. How they claim less benefits. How they do the jobs that many 'natives' won't. Yeah, we need more talk like this.
Donald Trump has ordered the US military to scale back drills with South Korea. He's threatened to "bomb the shit" out of Oman. Two long-standing American allies, treated like dirt. Once again this sends a very clear message to the UK. The US can no longer be relied on. We must look to Europe.
OTD in 2019 Russia, for some unexplained reason, withdrew from article 90 of protocol 1 of Geneva Conventions. The part that allows fact finding into serious violations. We see them as the Geneva suggestions.
There's an explanation for this: Some politicians and parts of the media deliberately pin the blame on immigrants. They want you to think Britain is lawless. Let's not fall for it.
Not hard to see why Reform did not announce their plan to abolish Personal Independence Payment until *after* the by-election..
BBC’s coverage of Reform’s welfare plans is frankly bizarre. Headlines in Ten, leading on some radio networks. Reform are not even the official opposition and the plans have less credibility than Count Binface. Will BBC News do the same for Lib Dem and Greens policy two years out from an election?
The further Putinization of America. Cut off from reality, the dear leader claims territory his military cannot control.
Trump says he will declare Strait of Hormuz a US ‘territory’ amid Iran war https://aje.news/htjkss
Shorter version: being on X encourages a lot of people to indulge the absolute worst elements of their personality. They should touch grass.
"When should we use the very loud, very scary public alert system that takes no notice of the mute settings on anyone's phone?" Godzilla attack, nuclear war, asteroid strike? Yes. Public service advisory? No. It's not rocket science.
Surely … someone … is … er … being a bit economical with the truth here? Any idea who it might be?
Nigel Farage suggests the police advised him against attending the result of the Clacton by-election. Essex Police completely deny this, telling the BBC "we have a proportionate and robust policing operation to ensure the safety and security of all participants in the count"
A well researched piece on the complex mess that is the water industry. www.kentcurrent.news/kents-drough... This is just in Kent - the national pjcture must be horrendous.

Five drinking water suppliers, disconnected supply areas and decades of mergers leave neighbouring Kent households subject to different hosepipe rules

One of the problems of parliament is that given any excuse and any opportunity it shifts away from transparency and accountability. This move has been done in the name of privacy and security, but it will *absolutely* allow exploitation by lobbyists, donors, relatives, etc. Terrible decision.
This is a dreadful development in our politics, which is bound to see dodgy & illegal lobbying now go unnoticed. And I say this as someone who, 20 years ago, was included in the register of MPs’ staff interests, when I worked for an MP. I never begrudged my inclusion on the register.
If early release can be altered so as to exempt homicide offences, it should be. Prisoners who have caused the gravest harm should be among the last to benefit from the overcrowding crisis. But carving out exceptions for individual prisoners in response to media campaigns is weak and unprincipled.
Ah yes, someone who aids Russia by withholding his firm's services is just the sort of person the UK should be giving contracts to for key services such as supplying electricity...
🇺🇦🇺🇸 The Atlantic: Former Defense Minister Fedorov has continued trying to persuade Musk to expand Ukraine's military use of Starlink. According to two of Fedorov's allies, Musk has refused, arguing that expanding Starlink's military role could escalate war and saying that "it's time to make a deal."
Are the Tories worried about the early release of prisoners because they haven't got enough council seats for them?
Journalists writing about the recent AI ‘hacks’, and writers of fiction such as The Undeclared War need to know one fact: if some code ‘escapes from a sandbox’ then it was never truly in a sandbox in the first place. A proper sandbox will be air-gapped. It was probably just in a test environment.
Good job Germany didn't send Ukraine those Taurus missiles. It really helped prevent an escalation.
The Leipzig drone bomb marks a dangerous escalation for Europe
A person serving a 4 month prison sentence for perverting the course of justice is entitled to stand for Parliament or remain an MP, but they are disqualified from being a councillor for 5 years. Tell me which of our elected representatives we hold to higher standards.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO STOP CLIMATE CHANGE IS STOP BURNING FOSSIL FUEL.
In Brexitopia, 'policy' only exists in a campaigning/making-noise sense that plays on people's frustrations with the real world. It doesn't actually work in reality. Detail and hard questions are its enemy. bsky.app/profile/theg...

It is time to invest homegrown, clean energy and cut reliance on imported gas, to boost energy security and deliver cheaper, more stable bills for households.
A cycle of big flap amplified by social media, siege mentality, far-right political movements weaponize, salience rises, it happens again.
