Piers Morgan “Mohammed, do you condemn the Hamas attacks on October the 7th?” Mohammed Hijab “Yes, I do. Do you condemn Israel killing over 1000 kids?” Piers Morgan “I believe Israel has a right to defend themselves” That answer should be on the tombstone of his career.

We don't talk about immigrants enough. We don't talk about how they pay more taxes. How they claim less benefits. How they do the jobs that many 'natives' won't. Yeah, we need more talk like this.

Donald Trump has ordered the US military to scale back drills with South Korea. He's threatened to "bomb the shit" out of Oman. Two long-standing American allies, treated like dirt. Once again this sends a very clear message to the UK. The US can no longer be relied on. We must look to Europe.

OTD in 2019 Russia, for some unexplained reason, withdrew from article 90 of protocol 1 of Geneva Conventions. The part that allows fact finding into serious violations. We see them as the Geneva suggestions.

BBC’s coverage of Reform’s welfare plans is frankly bizarre. Headlines in Ten, leading on some radio networks. Reform are not even the official opposition and the plans have less credibility than Count Binface. Will BBC News do the same for Lib Dem and Greens policy two years out from an election?

"When should we use the very loud, very scary public alert system that takes no notice of the mute settings on anyone's phone?" Godzilla attack, nuclear war, asteroid strike? Yes. Public service advisory? No. It's not rocket science.

One of the problems of parliament is that given any excuse and any opportunity it shifts away from transparency and accountability. This move has been done in the name of privacy and security, but it will *absolutely* allow exploitation by lobbyists, donors, relatives, etc. Terrible decision.

This is a dreadful development in our politics, which is bound to see dodgy & illegal lobbying now go unnoticed. And I say this as someone who, 20 years ago, was included in the register of MPs’ staff interests, when I worked for an MP. I never begrudged my inclusion on the register.

If early release can be altered so as to exempt homicide offences, it should be. Prisoners who have caused the gravest harm should be among the last to benefit from the overcrowding crisis. But carving out exceptions for individual prisoners in response to media campaigns is weak and unprincipled.

Journalists writing about the recent AI ‘hacks’, and writers of fiction such as The Undeclared War need to know one fact: if some code ‘escapes from a sandbox’ then it was never truly in a sandbox in the first place. A proper sandbox will be air-gapped. It was probably just in a test environment.
