We achieved a major milestone of the process today by submitting the docunents needed for Nina's application to the org helping us out. Fingers crossed that it's smooth sailing from here on out! Donations to help with costs are still very much needed and appreciated!

The death of physical media seems like a small thing practically but in essence it represents the total dissolution of games as “objects of art” and instead reduces them purely to “intellectual property”. It’s a slow disaster but if you care about games as an art form it IS a disaster.

I think GenAI garbage is sort of the end goal of needing every part of your artistic process to be "perfect." We are not perfect. Art is not perfect. There'd be no point in discussing or creating art if perfection has been achieved. By chasing perfection, you start seeing art as a problem to solve.

i agree it’s scary the extent to which arts & media are all having their funding slashed and burned but think about how many aesthetic icons looked or sounded the way they did because there was no money to make them conform with the standards of the time

Nina and I are working hard to complete get all the documentation and everything else we need for immigration in order to get her here into Australia permanently! There are still many and more expenses involved in this thing besides just the visa though, so any continued support would be welcome!
