I had to take a week off of lab work because I had Covid for the first time, and I am in disbelief that most people don't mask regularly like me and my community do. I do NOT want to go through this again.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.
I'm currently attending the American College Personnel Association's 2025 conference in Long Beach, CA, and this is hands down the most affirming conference I've attended. Everyone I've talked to has been wonderful and eager to help out as they can! I'm 100% coming back! #ACPA25
lol THESE WHITE STUDENTS? bsky.app/profile/keit...
The Trump administration has just announced that all college financial aid programs, scholarships, prizes, housing, and graduation ceremonies that help Black or Latino students are now considered to be illegal. The Education Department accuses colleges of discriminating against white students.

everything is a garbage fire; you should absolutely buy the little treat at the grocery store
The government censoring scientists is horrific. But what is even more horrific is that many non-government scientists and institutions are self-censoring themselves because they are scared of the government and losing funding. Authoritarianism wins when we comply in advance!
A phenomenal book if you haven't read it! #booksky

I'm gonna say the quiet part aloud. Sadly there are many in scientific, academic & healthcare ranks as well as in the leadership of professional societies who support the purge of DEI. The failure to peak out forcefully and rush to comply by some is unsurprising. www.statnews.com/2025/02/03/t...

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉
GOOD NEWS: A federal court temporarily halted President Trump's order to freeze all federal funding, including grants for public health, education, and safety. Trump's order would have devastating consequences for communities in every corner of the nation. Our leaders must block it for good.
I probably don't even need to say this, BUT. Me not posting about every nightmarish thing is not because I am not internally (or externally!) screaming multiple times per day, i just figure you heard about it from 100 other people posting about each new nightmare. I assure you, my soul is cracking.
If RFK Jr. were to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), his dangerous views could undermine decades of public health progress. Here’s why his beliefs are harmful. His confirmation hearing is this week. Let your senators know he cannot lead HHS His beliefs are dangerous 🧵

As your friendly neighborhood feminist scholar, I’d like to remind everyone that community building is going to be vital. There is strength in numbers-no matter what the 1% say-otherwise they wouldn’t be trying so hard to oppress us. Do not lose hope. Time for grassroots activism.
