All the shows I have seen have been great, but my Fringe highlight so far may be the guy who, in the middle of a very intense bit of his show, told some old people in the front row to stop talking, and then proceeded to tell them off at length again after the show. Public shaming is good!

A terrible day for trans people in Britain and a shameful one for the EHRC and government

If I see a woman interrogating anyone who is trying to use the loo about the contents of their underpants, I’ll be kicking off at *her*
This is what they expected and wanted to happen: that members of the public, shown the cops would take their side if they kicked off and went mental at anyone they suspected of being a transgender, would then start going apeshit en masse and enforce their wacko ideas for them.

People who behave like this in a hospital should still be treated, but they shld have to wait however long it takes until a doctor/nurse fitting their preferences goes on shift, and they should have to sit out that wait in a public waiting room wearing a gown with "racist" printed all over it.
I'm seeing four women comedians today, including one with an immigration angle (and now I think of it, two of the others are also migrants - Sophie Hagen and Celya AB). Always on brand, me www.edfringe.com/tickets/what...
Seems this is still MIA, so they have presumably not yet started using the process, which then begs the question of why it needed to be rushed out in such a ham fisted manner, and with no consultation or even notice to stakeholders
Still no sign of any guidance from the Home Office on this, that I've seen, but I expect it to be published today at some point.

There are many issues with Reform’s proposals for Royal Navy operations against small boats but chief among them is the fact it has already happened and didn't achieve the government's stated aims Operation Isotrope ran from 2022-23 as Channel crossings peaked inews.co.uk/news/world/n...
No, Farage, the Royal Navy can't stop small boats. This is why
Critics are already tearing apart Reform's plans to deploy British warships to intercept migrants in the Channel

There’s a lot of chat about the use of GenAI in images, as there should be, but I’ve noticed a HUGE uptick in AI generated text in the social media output of official accounts for musicians (and presumably elsewhere) and whoever is deciding to do this is doing their clients such a HUGE disservice.
Lots of changes to the immigration rules in force today, including introduction of new "merged registration" interview process for some asylum claims, the introduction of which was criticised by the House of Lords' Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee last week open.substack.com/pub/thoughts...

Sen. John Kennedy on Trump's blatant reflecting pool lies: "The president says it was caused by vandals. I don't know if he really believes that or it's part of his political messaging or he's just thinking out loud ... he grows anxious when he has an unexpressed thought."

I think we need to actually restate how wild it is how much anti trans activism there is, and the extreme degree. We're getting two high court decisions on trans rights today alone that have huge consequences for trans people's lives (strip searching and puberty blockers). In one DAY

Didn't think I would see this again, as the version I saw on Broadway was felt unbeatable. But when Cole Escola was announced I knew I had to go and tonight was FLAWLESS. Whole cast was brilliant, love this silly play!
