Yesterday, we kept our sight on saving services and restoring jobs. We approved Morillo 1 to answer the call of Portlanders, who were asking councilors to find a path to yes. I'm grateful to everybody who decided that serving our communities is more important than our previous disagreements.

We had an executive session to discuss the term sheet. Soon after we went into a long council session. At no point during the executive session did we reach consensus on the term sheet, let alone get a temp check. Even if it’s a “draft,” it sends the impression this is our starting offer. It’s not.
