I cannot emphasize enough how fucked up SpaceX's Texas site is and the Biden administration (specifically the FAA under Pete Buttigieg) gaslit everyone who pointed out this was de facto eminent domain (w no compensation) of protected wildlife habitat

The "Wall Street Journal" has a column accusing Mayor Mamdani of antisemitism, and they've chosen to illustrate it with just about the most blatantly Islamophobic illustration of Mamdani one could find. This is the equivalent of illustrating a Jewish politician with moneybags and puppet strings.

More political science that takes advantage of a big political event happening in the middle of survey fieldwork. And the actual finding is interesting in itself: Spain's center-right Partido Popular walking away from a coalition with far-right VOX raised PP support but not VOX support.

New working paper w/ @denis-cohen.bsky.social @rantuna.bsky.social & @turnbulldugarte.com! *Does publicly refusing to cooperate with the far right only strengthen it?* A widespread belief says yes. In this paper, we test it based on a natural experiment from Spain. tinyurl.com/5azkfnas [1/6]

In the first image Elon "pedo guy" Musk is replying with "Deal with traitors first, then invaders" to @visegrad24, a far-right account that Musk personally had un-suspended after it was auto-suspended for posting imagery of, in Musk's words, a "poor kid in Afghanistan being sodomized with a stick".

A Manhattan Bright Horizons childcare center was charged with horrific child abuse last year. I spent months figuring out how this could have happened at an expensive, ubiquitous, corporate brand and uncovered many other deeply troubling problems at the chain: www.thecut.com/article/brig...

So Andy Burnham's wife is getting endless nasty comments for having a body. I bet the "women's rights movement" that is heavily made up of trans-exclusive columnists who claim to be defending women are right on that. Yeah?

Julie Burchill saying that she can see "that woman's entire ovulation cycle in that frock" and, when corrected about her medical status says "if one wears such a tight dress, showing such detail, one cannot complain of attention and inspection."

When I was in the US for uni, the BBC were doing vox pops about the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. As a poli-sci major, I briefly went into why this would be a disaster, and then was stopped by the reporter, who (rather politely) went "I agree w/ you, but we can't use that, it's too critical"
