Standing up for democracy. Love animals, art and photography, nature, friends, family, books, sugar, and sunsets. Vote AND volunteer.

Polls don’t vote and they were way off, by more than double digits, in MI. These kind of polls can suppress votes because it makes people think they don’t need to bother voting.

My ice-cold boring take that will definitely not go viral is that a primary result with a margin of victory of roughly 1 percent tells you precisely nothing about The Future Of The Party.

Republicans in one of Texas’ most competitive and populous counties are pushing a plan to close 140 election day polling places. This is blatant voter suppression, and 1.3M registered voters in Tarrant County will be impacted if Republicans on the commissioners court get their way.

Graphic on the left that reads: "Election day polling places: 316 (2022 midterms) 176 (proposed for 2026), and a photo of a polling place on the right.

People need to get it through their heads that whatever they *might* have “actually” meant a couple of years ago, when leftists say “AIPAC” or “Israel” NOW they often mean (((Jewish))) just as when MAGA says “DEI” they mean “Black.” If you can’t get that I don’t know what the else to say.

Pump the brakes, folks. Context matters. I was the DNC Assoc. Chair in ‘18, & fundraising wasn't easy then either. It rises and falls every cycle. Ken Martin & the DNC have invested a historic amount in state parties, helping build the infrastructure that's already paying off in special elections.

Republicans were forced to postpone Todd Blanche’s confirmation because they knew he was too corrupt to get the votes. He went from being Trump's personal lawyer to running the Epstein files cover-up. We will not stop fighting until Donald Trump withdraws his nomination.

Bernie is no different from Trump. He doesn’t apologize or take accountability for anyone or anything. And like Trump, he unleashed a cult of ignorati who’ve only gotten worse with each passing year. Don’t hold your breath waiting for either of them to own their failures.

can we bring back shame, accountability, and self reflection to politics? I'm not saying Bernie need to take sole responsibility or anything but the bare minimum of "I made a mistake, I wasn't as careful as I should have been" no, nothing, somehow asking him to drop out covers everything

Exactly. Have the dinner. Drop the politicians. Some traditions run their course and this one has. It’s looks too cozy to have a fancy dinner with politicians and those who hold them to account. *NYT does not attend. It’s the right call.

Have been a member of the @whca.bsky.social almost continuously since the 1990s. Our mission is to defend the First Amendment rights of White House correspondents to report on the president without fear or favor. Unfortunately last night did not advance that cause. Time to rethink the dinner.

Yesterday, my NIH IMPROVE Act passed the House unanimously! The next step? Getting it passed in the Senate. When I came to Congress, my goal was simple: end pregnancy-related deaths. This funding gets us one step closer to ending these maternal health disparities.

A lot of #BlackSky folks have warned DSA types that alienating Black Democrats is a pretty stupid thing to do since I’m addition to being the most loyal Dem voters, they’re also THE core of Democratic organization & outreach efforts. I’d like to add something to this point. 1/
