A lot of people don’t realize the dust bowl wasn’t a natural phenomenon. There are no economical benefits from datacenters to communities. Convenience stores have more employees, and most of the employees will be shipped in from out of state. Any financial gain to the community will be dwarfed by the increase in electric utility rates. And the noise is unforgiving.
