Regardless of public facing commentary, privately they are willing to engage and address questions. And I have appreciated that. Thank you

I think it is generally bad that the Israelis have convinced themselves that they have the unlimited right to dictate what every one of their neighbors can and can't do on every single possible issue— up to and including *Syria flying a single fighter jet in an exercise with Turkey*.

Israel's defense establishment is closely monitoring with concern the rebuilding of the Syrian Air Force in the post-Assad era: recruitment of pilots, training, and a first exercise with fighter jets in northern Syria. Cannot emphasize enough: Diplomacy and military power are not at odds on some kind of sliding scale where you prioritize one or the other. Successful statecraft at the superpower level requires both to be excellent.

credit where it's due, he tries to dodge it with the billionaire answer at first, but acknowledging that taxes would go up for everyone (at least a little) is the first step toward having an actual grown-up realistic conversation about universal health care in this country
