Don't be COVID Complicit at No Kings today! Ending SARS-COV-2 protection was all about the 1% pinning all the costs on the Working Class. It DOES still spread outdoors, especially when a crowd is chanting together, plus an N95 & sunglasses gives facial recognition a hard time. Long COVID sucks.

In this community we know:
COVID IS AIRBORNE
THE PANDEMIC CONTINUES
YOU'RE "VULNERABLE' TOO
LONG COVID IS FOREVER
N95s KEEP US SAFE!

Where is our collective outrage that we’re being harmed in healthcare settings? Patients shouldn’t have to risk preventable infection that can result in death, disability, lost work time, harm to infected loved ones, &c. As a HCW & patient, I want universal & permanent n95s in healthcare settings.

Please teach your parents and grandparents that ChatGPT isn't an authority?! I'm in the waiting room at a big cancer institute and overheard an older person explaining to a nurse that "ChatGPT told me to take this medicine at this time of day..." even though the actual instructions say differently 😱

We can’t comply our way out of fascism any more than we can ignore our way out of a pandemic. ICE is a tool of fascism. So are unmitigated pandemics & the people who won’t wear an n95. So are anti-trans laws & those who want to delay trans liberation. So are genocides & those who ignore them.

This is my friend's cat. Its name is Cookie Swirl, and it disappeared in the American section of Charlotte airport on 11/10. We're asking for your help. She doesn't have any other socials, so if you can post it widely to see if anyone knows where it is. It's a little thing, but matters a lot to her.

Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you don’t want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.

Positive Covid-19 result for a patient this morning - reasons abound to mask in health care

I don’t do the disability advocacy thing out loud as much anymore, but being at school this week had me thinking about the way well-meaning abled people move to help and what actually helps. This is not shaming anyone. But I appreciate when folks who do instinctually help move intentionally. 🧵

Shout-out Big Mike at the Keene, NH Pride Festival who manhandled my wheelchair tire back into the rim it had yeeted itself off of - may your pillow always be cool. 🏳️‍🌈🌈🥰

There is a kind of mouse that has been bred over decades to be suitable for skin cancer research. They are *ridiculously* expensive. They're also living animals. You have to feed them and clean their enclosures and take care of them, or they die.

Biomedical research isn't a YouTube video, you cannot hit pause for an indefinite period of time and then hit play whenever the regime wants. Samples are destroyed, labs dismantled, scientists leave...

If we’re going to make any progress, we’ve got to quit engaging with the pretext. The DC invasion isn’t about crime, is about authoritarianism. Occupying LA isn’t about immigration, it’s about the racial hierarchy. Stop engaging with the phony pretext.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

Disability is not a vacation. It’s not like that time you took a week off sick from work. It’s a 24/7 job. It’s unrelenting pain, fatigue and suffering. It’s dealing with a medical system that ignores and gaslights you, a society that views you as expendable & people who resent you for existing

I'm really interested to see studies like this and with bigger sample numbers- how I describe my quick muscle fatigue to my PT is like: that lactic acid buildup feeling that I used to get after a long workout, I now get in my arms when I try to fold laundry for 30 seconds.
