I for one think it’s bad that the president can just say crazy stuff all day every day and 99% of it doesn’t make the news because we’ve normalized having an insane president
The real reason is they want to kill disabled people but even if that weren’t the case, no person who gets mad they had to stand in line while you sit for your job was going to have anything but an eminently hostile experience, self inflicted.

The problem with the Democratic Party is that they don’t know how to advocate for things that are currently unpopular. All they know how to do is to run away from scary topics, and let Republicans control the narrative. It is very, very frustrating.

Whenever I see a poll like this I always like to remind people that approval for interracial marriage in the US did not cross the 50% mark until 1994, when I was already in my twenties.

The reason people aren't comfortable with it is because the argument only has one loud side. If Democratic elected officials rebutted the very obvious bullshit of the right wing, things would look different. Instead, almost all of them cower at best or participate at worst.

Something else - and no, I’m not making an original point here — that endlessly infuriates me about the trump administration’s siege of Springfield Ohio is that the Haitians are there primarily because they were invited there, largely by local conservative political and business leaders…
