One thing that strikes me as vaguely insulting as a drone of the education system is that they don't even try to frame this stuff in the context of learning anymore. Every time a student has to write an essay from here on out, a gremlin is going to be whispering in their ear asking "Wanna cheat?"
throwback to the time I went to the Tate Modern and the words “Piet Mondrian’s ‘loss’” washed over me like a vision of God in all Their glory
#stevenuniverse I've been watching Steven Universe with my partner (husband) recently -- here is my rendition of Lapis. I wanted to draw her in afghan (pashtun) attire because one of the biggest deposits of Lapis Lazuli is found in Afghanistan.
It's safe to assume that all major LLMs are scraping Bluesky data to train future models. As an open protocol, Bluesky is one of the few sources of fresh human-generated content that anybody can gobble up. So all this is probably going in the models. There are submarines in the Great Lakes.
you don't always need childhood trauma or depression to make Art™ sometimes you just need something that makes you grips your dick (gender neutral) so hard you that want to create something with the other hand that isn't gripping your dick
Stuff like this is why "I had to use AI because I couldn't afford to hire an artist" is a horseshit excuse. There's so much incredible work you can use for free and lovely people like this that want to help you do that.
Public Domain Art is the lifeblood of small tabletop rpgs, but it can be a nightmare trying to find the right art and license. This week, I’ve re-uploaded my old list from 2020 (with updates) of public domain websites. That's 500,000+ public domain paintings, photos, maps, and film. Link below 🔗👇
The entire point of a liberal arts education (the A part in a BA) is that learning (and learning how to keep learning) is intrinsically valuable. College is different from a trade school. Both have value, but not the same value.
That's how it works — I just try to capture the emotion and the plot
Related to this, I really don’t like it when people lose hope because of things getting worse. It can get much worse. I grew up in China, and it’s much worse.
There’s such a tendency for people to say “oh it’s always been that bad” to people who are vastly more informed and are saying things have changed. It’s like pointing to the smoldering ashes of a city and being informed that buildings have always caught fire
The creator of Roger Rabbit (who is 85 years old by the way) is a good sort Crossposted with @openvibe.social
Tan, 4/7 Took me a reasonable amount of time to get around to finishing this. it’s less polished than I’d like but I need to call it finished and move on at Some Point lol #voidstranger
id tech is basically magic. It's one of the most impressive, efficient engines ever created that id has a truly shocking track record with. Replacing that with UE is baffling.
