“Reform will end ‘something for nothing’ Britain.” - Nigel Farage. He receives £98,599 a year as an MP, yet for more than three months this year he didn't cast a single parliamentary vote or make a single written contribution or speech in Parliament either. But yes, let’s shout at poor people

There’s something deeply repellent about Reform’s vengeful and racist obsession to take money from the most vulnerable when they’re under multiple investigations for breaking rules, dodging tax and gorging on £millions for themselves. (And trashing our EU agreement is just so thick it hurts) iPaper

EU'would retaliate on welfare plan'
By Arj Singh
The EU could launch a trade war against the UK and would probably strip British expats of benefits in retaliation to Reform's plan to ban foreign nationals from nearly all welfare payments.
Nigel Farage was warned that Brussels was likely to react with fury to his party's plan to bar foreign nationals, including EU citizens with settled status, from claiming most benefits in Britain.
Under the terms of Brexit, the EU could also launch economic retaliation, for exampleby suspending parts of the trade deal between the two sides including putting up tariffs that would hit the economy. Anand Menon, the director of the think-tank UK in a Changing Europe told The i Paper: "The proposals would breach the terms of the withdrawal agreement and the EU will doubtless retaliate, whether that be by making life harder for Britons in the EU or by triggering retaliatory trade measures.
"Either way, it will impact severely on UK-EU relations."
Reform's Treasury spokesman, Robert Jenrick, insisted that the ban was necessary because
"forcing British workers to pay for the benefits of foreigners is not just economically illiterate but plain immoral".

The term “witch hunt” is overused in politics. Perhaps not now. Quite a bit of the British media should ask themselves serious questions as to whether the coverage they gave to this man was remotely proportionate. Likewise there are Qs for Cambridge- and whether they discharged their duty of care.

A senior Reform UK source has said Nigel Farage thought a by-election would stop the parliamentary standards inquiry into his £5 million 'gift' from a crypto-billionaire. He thought wrong.

Farage won. And lost. And didn't even turn up, having told the press the police had warned him of a "credible threat". The police denied saying this. His credible threat has no credibility. Which is apt. The inquiry starts again today.

Nigel Farage suggests the police advised him against attending the result of the Clacton by-election. Essex Police completely deny this, telling the BBC "we have a proportionate and robust policing operation to ensure the safety and security of all participants in the count"

Count Binface on the Clacton by-election on US TV, "If Nigel Farage strikes me down electorally I will become more powerful than he can possibly imagine" "Because the parliamentary committee will look into his £5 million unconditional gift" "But he didn't declare it"

Farage's by-election stunt wasted enough public money to pay for free dental care for every child in his constituency. Does he care? No. He just wanted to avoid legitimate parliamentary scrutiny of his dodgy bungs. Which he won't. It'll start again immediately. What a cock.

By Friday, Nigel Farage will either have lost his by-election bid to an alien bin, or his parliamentary standards investigation will be active again. Either way, great news if you're not a fan.

Yusuf has annoyed Farage - the “Daddy” - so he’s in for a telling off. These are people who expect to be in government. How deeply embarrassing for the country that that could be remotely possible. Not a clue how to behave and not a shred of dignity amongst any of them. (iPaper)

REFORM UK
Farage to give Yusuf a 'ticking off'
By George Thompson
Nigel Farage said yesterday that he would give his Reform UK ally Zia Yusuf a "ticking off" after he branded a former Conservative minister a
"traitor to Britain".
Yusuf, Reform's home affairs spokesman, launched an attack on Sir Ben Wallace on Monday, branding him a "moron" before suggesting he should be prosecuted "for treason for importing thousands of unvetted Afghans to Britain".
Farage said that calling Wallace - who served in the Scots Guards - a traitor was "too strong a word". The Reform leader told The Sun: "I should give him a ticking off, don't worry." The row erupted after Wallace, a former defence secretary, criticised Reform's plans to send foreign national offenders to jails abroad.
Responding, Yusufargued on X his party's plans were a "direct response to your government's failures" and accused him of having secretly "im-ported" thousands of Afghan migrants to the UK.
Wallace told Times Radio that Yusuf should "apologise for his language"

If early release can be altered so as to exempt homicide offences, it should be. Prisoners who have caused the gravest harm should be among the last to benefit from the overcrowding crisis. But carving out exceptions for individual prisoners in response to media campaigns is weak and unprincipled.

People like Greg, who have quite uncharitable views, to put it nicely, and are confident enough to phone a live radio show, should really equip themselves with the facts. Or at least have the gumption to admit they are wrong @lbc.co.uk

Remember when you're fleeing for your life to take crockery, cutlery, bedding and several changes of clothes with you if you want to avoid being trashed by Daily Express hacks whose only experience of danger is submitting their expenses.

I believe Clacton deserves an MP who will spend their time shining a light on everything the area has to offer. And why wait till I'm elected? I've been to visit one of the constituency's most stunning landmarks.
