OECD power generation from gas has seen a significant drop in the five months since LNG flows through the Strait of Hormuz were first disrupted. This has not resulted in an increase in coal-fired generation as solar and wind have covered demand growth and the fall in gas.

There are many other things rightly being centered in the discourse on this mess But I think one big other dimension worth reflecting on is how much of this involved people being conditioned to believe it is both necessary and savvy to accept a severely constrained choice of candidates

One cool implication of this proposal, which requires all federal grants to be screened by political appointees before disbursing funds: By appointing only people who use Grok or whatever to do their jobs, the president can effectively give AI company executives veto power over all federal grants.
