Finally, AP called it for Abdul with a 1-point, just-shy-of 15K vote lead at 99% of votes in. Donovan McKinney won the 13th district with +3.8%. What a nail-biter.

On to the next one. Here's a strange special election to replace Eric Swalwell in 2 weeks. Melissa Hernandez & Aisha Wahab have gone head-to-head twice since June. Wahab won by over 20 points both times. But every AIPAC shell PAC & AIPAC itself are still coming in 10:1 for Hernandez.

We badly need ranked choice voting everywhere. The electability calculation is such a horrible thing to make voters go through. Having the average voter try to guess what *other people* will think is appealing is insane.
I can’t tell if this is good or bad for Abdul Al-Sayed (I think it’s good?) but I *can* tell you that AIPAC losing this race will energize grassroots campaigns in the coming weeks.
