Quick note to my fellow asexuals: Let's stop the squabbling about what will help or harm ace "visibility," okay? They've heard, they got it. They hate us. We're dropping the handwringing about visibility and representation. We're going to get with our queer community and start talking resistance.

The fact is this: Most are muttering or snarling; Niger just roared. It's long past time to stop exclusionist-rhetoric that targets our own. There are monsters in our midst and they're coming for us all.

It's no secret to any ace person that we've been on the chopping block along with our queer siblings the whole time. Yet, like other queer identities, our oppression has been erased, disguised, and hidden; leading to our further silencing under claims that we are "faking our oppression".

Niger just became the first nation in the world to criminalize asexuality. 🧵 S/O to @theyasminbenoit.bsky.social Everyone needs to watch this Instagram reel by Yasmin Benoit about how NIger just became the first nation in the world to criminalize asexuality. www.instagram.com/p/DZ2-fSGsCd1/

Listen, I would love to participate in the internet discourse on the ace flags, I really would. But, they're already in a committed QPR. They're cuddling on the couch right now. They're going to a cake-decorating class next Tuesday evening. I don't know what to tell you.

An angry crowd yelling, shaking their fists, and carrying pitchforks.Panel 2:

The crowd pauses, looking perplexed. A voice from off panel says, "Uhh... everybody?"Panel 3:

The person who is the source of the voice gestures to two figures behind them while shrugging. The two figures embrace joyfully with wide grins. The figure on the left is colored like the original asexual flag. The figure on the right is colored like the universal asexual flag.

Asexuality has been referred to as the “invisible orientation” for a multitude of reasons, and many of the same arguments can be applied to Aromanticism, which is in many ways, an even less visible orientation, and often conflated with asexuality.

And what I think is the most important aspect of the #ArtemisII mission - for the first time, a more diverse crew will extend their reach out into deep space, and look back and see our beautiful, blue spaceship home planet. Their experience will be representing so many more people!

Importantly, #ArtemisII is going to set some new records that have not been attempted for 54 years. And for the first time, the first woman, the first person of colour and the first non-American will travel to lunar space. www.spaceaustralia.com/feature/aust... 📸 ULA #SpaceAustralia 🔭🧪
