If Dolly was our constant reminder that it was Good to be Good, Tim Curry was our reminder that it was Good to be Weird. Embrace your strangeness, sing with Muppets, wear your lingerie with a leather jacket, and fuck with uptight people who hate anything that makes them remotely uncomfortable.
RIP to a motherfucking icon.
This is the letter kids got at the end of Dolly’s Imagination Library. I defy you to read this and not cry.
Rest In Peace, to an absolute icon who proudly showed the power in kindness and humility, and love and acceptance, and whose talent changed music forever. I'm not a big country fan, but still, the world won't be the same without Miss Dolly.
Dolly Parton's family asked that, in lieu of flowers, fans make a donation to the singer's Imagination Library. Here's what the charity does ⬇️ www.rollingstone.com/music/music-...
Yasutaka Nakata is one of the most underrated producers alive. I'm on my Perfume / CAPSULE kick rn.

"Vetting" is a practice people need embrace. It's the healthy middle ground between gatekeeping and a free-for-all. There is a European "Gymfurs" group, and so many people left because those invited were not vetted, and it's turned into an echo chamber for a variety of unhealthy behaviours.
Maybe you think you are invulnerable to this (you are not), but the people who stay in Twitter because you are still sharing there are definitely being dragged to the right. I have so many mutuals who are still posting regularly there, and it's so disheartening to see. Please stop.
Evidence is already accruing that spending time on Twitter pulls ppl to the right, bc the algorithm feeds you horrible stuff. And again: academics are likely more vulnerable, bc they convince themselves they are less.
I'd argue that, for the metrics, it's vastly MORE important that viewers turn this off. There's more viewers than streamers, so even if every streamer turned this off, if viewers don't, the executives can still claim that "most users don't care" and cram it down our throats even harder. Opt out.
Even if you're just a viewer and not a streamer, tell them through metrics that you reject AI: Twitch.tv > Settings > Security and Privacy > Training for Generative AI: OFF

Love how this dude discovered the cheat codes of "what if I listened to constituents" and "what if I modeled good behavior" and "maybe I behave like a normal person should." These are apparently dark secrets that have been hidden from other politicians.
I'm listening, I'm learning. Safety first, NYC.
Finally watching The Morning Show and it’s genuinely excellent but I swear I’d fire every anchor who works at this news station xD Wish I could randomly space out and walk off set two minutes before a live broadcast without telling anyone like these guys do three times an episode
Almost 98% of car sales in Norway are EVs now. Only 12 gas cars were sold in April and less than 100 diesel vehicles per month. Most diesel vehicles are sold to companies for towing heavy loads over long distances. Norway has fewer people than the state of Washington but we're nowhere close to this.
Someone tell NASA that we found a short cut.

Actual CEO of a space company people actually invest in says "by the early 2030s" -- just 5 to 7 years from now -- there will be mines and factories and large human workforce on the Moon, such that we'll be able to see lights of the lunar city from our front porches fortune.com/2026/08/17/b...
Remember all that posturing we used to do about how we hate Nazis? All the military jokes about “killin’ Nazis,” Night by Elie Weisel, the movies, the bristling at antisemitism? The extent to which Hitler was vilified in society? We’re the Nazis now. And our Hitler’s a dumbass who shits himself.

Changed my legal name a year ago today! Everything after the court date was a pain in the ass. I don’t recommend dealing with it more than once if you can help it 😭
We've seen some questions pop up around layoffs: "well, if they were laid off, didn't that mean they weren't doing a good job? Maybe they deserved it." And on its face, that sounds logical and legitimate. Because the opposite would just be pure cruelty, right? ...Right? ...So here's the thing.
