Patronize Indigenous Art and Businesses. Helping someone in an institutionally disadvantaged community pay their bills or buy formula for their child will do more good in the world than reminding everyone that Columbus was a piece of shit. If you've got recommendations, drop them in the comments.

Today is indigenous peoples day. It is crucial to remember and talk about how there is still an active genocide against the tribal nations that were here for eons before this country colonized their land. Broken treaties and needless cruelty STILL HAPPEN. Sacred sites are under attack right now.

I cannot stress enough that ICE is acting the way cops have acted for years. These are just "starlight tours" for Indigenous teens applied to the rest of the population.

4/ Fernando Vasquez, an 18-year-old citizen, was on break from work when agents chased and handcuffed him, then put him in their truck. After realizing their mistake, the agents left the teen alone in the woods, with no way to get home. Then they threw his ID out of the truck.

Exactly. I am tired of seeing the “I always knew”/“their work was actually bad” takes whenever allegations emerge. Sometimes—often, actually!—bad people find their way into good spaces and make good things. And you’re not better than the folks who were taken advantage of for “always knowing”
