if it's layoffs on ship no matter what, never pay that company for anything. why would you. your money will never reach anyone who worked on what you bought, or respected those people. you'll not be investing in anything in any sense software is on the honour system and these people have no honour

in this case there's a boycott on anyway. but even if there wasn't. whether you're looking at piracy or just not participating there is usually some sort of trade-off; you want to contribute to the industry where you can and make things pay off for people. but you have no way to do that here
Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

how i put textures on my digital pieces a guide notes: this works for pretty much any kind of art, but seems to have the greatest mileage with flat graphic shapes. i'm 1000% sure there's easier ways to do this but this is how i do it

That was certainly an interesting Spider-Man movie about a demographic reviled by most of society, abandoned by family and friends, and finding community in times of persecution and repression. Also the ninjas were way cooler than I expected. Well played.

One of my teachers when I was growing up in Boston worked as a stunt coordinator and doing special effects (like rain, snow, breaking glass). It was blue-collar for sure and also a lot of craft and artisanship involved.
