Hi my name is Tom. He/His. I used to be on Twitter. I still am, but I used to, too. LAX / PHL

I don’t know about “business” but I’d guess being in a public feud with the widow of a universally beloved figure that voiced most of the greatest moments in your franchise’s overwhelmingly putrid history in a city filled with grudge-holding psychopaths (complimentary) over “napkin money” is bad.

This is such an unforced error by the Phillies. A terrible look no matter how you slice it.

probably the grimmest thing about the law review process (speaking as a former articles editor for a relatively prestigious journal at a big fancy law school) is that, as unqualified as the student editors are, they absolutely improve the articles they receive. most law professors cannot write.

it’s impossible to explain the law review industrial complex to the general public without sounding like a guy you'd avoid on the subway platform. "the articles regularly cited by judges up to and including the supreme court are edited by students" like what? no surely that can’t be how it works.

I’m going to be blunt. I read the Wurman/Barnett op-ed again. It’s hackery by amateur historians who misstate the legal history and twist their own argument, seemingly unable to decide whether text, intent, or original meaning is what matters. It’s not scholarly. And they should be ashamed of it.

Fantastic news! A veterans committee finally undid two grave injustices by electing Dick Allen and Dave Parker to the Hall of Fame @baseballhall.bsky.social. Both men dominated their eras … but Allen, in particular, was a victim of racism in the league and the press. www.mlb.com/news/classic...

One could argue that some climate change impacts have saturated the news (I wouldn't, but one could) -- heat waves, stronger hurricanes, wildfire, etc -- but I just don't think it has rippled out just how bad the situation is in Greenland and West Antarctica, and what that truly means for the world.

More Bad Ice News: a new study finds that Greenland ice sheet loss has been underestimated by as much 20%. An area bigger than Rhode Island disappeared and we didn't account for it before.

The difference is that the media thinks of Clinton as a person who should know better. They think of Trump as a fascinating monster. This has the odd effect of making Clinton's very human expression of exasperation seem monstrous, while humanizing Trump's monstrosity.

NEW STUDY: Broadcast, cable, and print outlets have given Donald Trump calling his enemies "vermin" a tiny fraction of the coverage they gave Hillary Clinton's 2016 remark calling some Trump supporters "deplorables" www.mediamatters.org/donald-trump...

I have watched the Dodgers make the playoffs 13 out of the last 16 years. In all but one of those years they have done the same thing over and over: forget how to hit with runners on base. Being a fan of this team is just exhausting.
