Some thoughts after reading the East Bay Times’ recap of Vitello’s odd Adames work ethic crash out:

This guy is the Frasier Crane-throws-a-dinner-party of baseball managers.
Oh my god they may not be able to void it because of Tony Vitello
Oh, but he jumps on responding to THIS without hesitation. Clear, unambiguous, firm. All the things he could have been post-June 12.
🤖 Justice delos Santos Buster Posey writes in a statement re: Harrison Bader that the Giants “will be suspending payment to Harrison until he is able to resume performing services for the Club."

Giants OF Harrison Bader out for season after late-night scooter accident

Have the Giants considered picking a struggle? Either be bad at baseball or bad at humanity. But you can't do both at the same time and expect to still have fans somehow.
A concise description of the contemporary GOP. And the San Francisco Giants Baseball Club, LLC. (I know, I know, the Venn diagram is a circle.)
MF thinks it's illegal to get clowned on
sometimes I think that Tony Vitello has to be an elaborate bit, an Andy Kaufman-esque ruse that can’t possibly be real
You think they ever feel like complete doofuses for calling it that? They probably feel like complete doofuses.
NHC will initiate advisories on Tropical Depression Two (formerly AL91) located over the northeastern Gulf of America, at 1100 AM EDT (1500 UTC).
I knew the Mariners’ offense was struggling, but getting shutdown by a guy who lives on a diet of glue sticks and Tide pods is a tough look.
In which “frank” means “opaque and confusing.” “Toward the end of Posey's segment, he offered his ’frank’ evaluation that Vitello and his staff ’are doing a really good job,’ and used the word ’clickbait‘ to hedge against any confused head-scratching that might be inspired by this statement.”
Buster Posey sucks, but don't take my word for it: defector.com/buster-posey...
…starting with Buster Posey and Tony Vitello.
🤖 San Francisco Chronicle 🔁 by Susan Slusser The San Francisco Giants didn’t come close to fulfilling high expectations in the front half of the season. Buster Posey and Tony Vitello may have to tear down and start to rebuild.
The tone was truly set when Vitello immediately went off on the media for accurately reporting his departure from Tennessee lol. Posey's response to that weirdness was the same as it is for everything else.... nothing.
It's just really damning stuff for Buster Posey that the Giants have been bad before, even in Buster's time as a player, yet the Giants never lost their fans and openly fought with their own media like this.
Buster Posey, reviewing a new ocean liner in 1912: “Every step has been taken to make her practically unsinkable.”
🤖 SF Giants on NBCS Buster Posey explained to @PavlovicNBCS why the Giants feel they're as prepared for the 2026 MLB Draft as they've been in years
There is no detail or context that would enhance this beautiful comment.
Landen Roupp with a touching tribute to the 30 days of Pride Month by throwing 30 pitches in the 1st inning
Twice in a single East Bay Times article, Vitello shouts hosannas for Drew Cavanaugh because…he’s easy to talk to. You know, I agree with other folks who have observed that Vitello seems to want buds more than he wants to lead a professional baseball team.

You can't revisit something you never visited in the first place. 🙃
Buster Posey on Pride Night: “I understand that there's strong feelings on this topic. There's differing perspectives, and out of respect to everybody involved, it's not something that I'm going to revisit.”
Back in my reporting days, I covered some professional flame-outs. But I don’t recall someone destroying their own goodwill and reputation as quickly and thoroughly as Buster Posey has since June 12. This should be a cautionary case study in PR and leadership classes for years.
I doubt anybody feels “respected” by this astonishingly incompetent response.
