I'm a 🇨🇦 IT Tech (he/him), iron-ring'd engineer and CAF army vet. I played folk on The Redacted Files, Gold Wings Black Sky, SHU, & 'Here, After' (an Orpheus Protocol side story); Views are my own. pfp: @ Hugo Sloth/Boofsayer/ Whatever Hugo's tag is here

Tech CEOs: "all your data is ours, we are going to destroy your career and create a permanent underclass and you pathetic peasants can't stop us. Just lie back and enjoy it, plebes." Also tech CEOs: "why won't people let us build our data centres? It must be China's fault"

‘In July alone, more than 150 towns and counties passed temporary or permanent bans on data centers, many adopted in emergency meetings. That brings the nationwide total to more than 500.’ www.theinformation.com/articles/dat...

I don't even know what to say. This is real, this is true, so, like, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. This took over 25 years to happen so if there's any lesson here it's either "keep at it, who knows" or "many people are divorced"

image of a gold record superimposed on part of Vaughan Oliver's iconic cover for the Mountain Goats' "Tallahassee" album, with a banner beneath it showing the entire album cover, an RIAA seal, and the text: Presented to THE MOUNTAIN GOATS to commemorate the RIAA Gold certification of more than 500,000 copies of the 4AD single "No Children"

Its a lib "bubble" because MAGA can't stick dick opinions in my face without a block. People like bluesky because unlike Twitter you can curate/filter out stupid bullshit. The only reason conservatives hate it is because they cant force you to pay attention to them. That better not fucking change.

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
