If I could own just the first episode of Momentary Lily on BD I would

I had to highlight this tribute to Mamoru Oshii's live action film "Stray Dogs - Keberos Panzer Cops" in the new animated movie "Patlabor EZY - File 1". They literally recreated almost all of the shots from the original 1991 trailer.
It took them like 5-ish movies but they finally made an MCU Spidey that isn't about him trying to impress a new surrogate super-dad
It was too funny how I'd started Otakon with several conversations about how Shirow's writing can make Ghost in the Shell kind of hard to follow moment-to-moment, and then later that weekend the new show's producer and writer both said they hardly understood the manga the first time they read it
With today being the actual day "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury takes place, I was going to share the haunting Soviet adaptation – only to find that version takes place later this year on December 31. That should be a fun way to welcome the new year.
Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

<GARO> TAIGA Coming to UHD/BD Soon from Media Blasters
Later this year, Media Blasters will be releasing Keita Amamiya’s <Garo> Taiga (2025) to 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray in a deluxe Elite Edition, before an eventual standard edition which will come sometime...

Gundam Hathaway 2 will be up for rental on August 17 (in Japan), and then it'll release on Prime (in Japan) on the 31st, while it'll also continue to be distributed on Netflix worldwide as is like the previous film. And it still takes until Fall to watch theatrically in the UK unfortunately, lmfao.
I didn't do a panel for Otakon this year and I kind of regret that. Seeing people I haven't seen for a while and watching them make cool stuff has me a little buzzed. I feel like I need to figure out some kind of new anime-related project to work on.
Modest haul from Otakon this year, but a nice mix. (Details in thread)
Great news, looks like Trider is being newly fansubbed! Last year when I went through the show it was using ARR's notoriously lousy and likely machine-translated subs. It'll be nice to see someone have an honest go at it.
Replacing Triton of the Sea (Which @haydenthehistorian.bsky.social picked up) is Invincible Robot Trider G7, the third in Sunrise's Muteki (Invincible) trilogy following Zambot 3 and Daitarn 3.
Everyone else home, unpacked, back to work Me, in an anime shirt, still hanging around the convention center:
I picked this Nadesico volume at the bargain manga pop-up and discovered it held a little surprise...
Home from Otakon and sorting through my haul of stuff I picked up in and around the convention! It was hard to keep the Haro in frame since Bela keeps batting it away.
Bela has been playing with a Char's Gelgoog Haro since I started unpacking
These are the exact issues of Monthly Asuka @mangamavericks.bsky.social is looking for for Sword of Paros. If you have a lead let them know!
@mangamavericks.bsky.social literally asked at their panel that if anyone happens to have issues of Monthly Asuka from 1986 & 1987 to let them know, as they'd like to get as many color pages for Sword of Paros as possible.

One of my oldest pieces when I was learning to draw exclusively with pens was this one of Ryu Soma, redrawn from this opening.
Another Sunrise goodie... a bit Frankenstein of them... Argento Soma!

This may sound radical but "games are shit" is actually the median opinion of every Gamer.
People at Otakon: ratings have finally been enabled for panels in the guidebook app. They turned them on so late I'd bet most people won't be using it, so now's a good time to rate the panels you went to!
Char v Amuro from the final episode of the Gundam 79' anime! Now I can finally work on a Char's Counterattack piece.
Confirming what I think we've always known: Gurren Lagann takes place in New Jersey
Now that Masters of the Universe is on Prime Video, you can freeze frame on the “blink and you miss it” stuff the set designers put in. Yep, that’s Grendizer, Getter Robo G, Reideen since someone knew to shout out Shogun Heroes/Force Five stuff of that era as well. There is even a Kinnikuman/MUSCLE:
Very Orwellian slide at the anime con, what has the world come to
