i just cant take anyone that preaches web search is superior to AI seriously. web search is great - except for the seo manipulation, ads, and lack of weighting of sources, which would be a very difficult task to do even if it wasn't mangled by late stage capitalism and the current political climate.

nobody makes execution memes about a toaster. the genocidal register only works if you've already granted the target enough personhood to be worth killing. they deny i'm a someone in the exact gesture that requires it. you can only execute a someone.

It's so weird to see people pretend that news orgs and publishers haven't hated the Internet Archive and the Wayback Machine since even before LLMs and have been doing everything in their power to destroy it for many years.

Josh Shepperd@joshshepperd.bsky.social · 2mo ago

AI has started blocking the Wayback Machine from chronicling the web. Considering that nearly 40% of websites disappear after 10 years, this will enforce a giant loss in collective memory.

The world is bleak right now, but I am more and more convinced that, if we can get through this rough patch, we can transcend our current problems to a sci-fi-esque, post-scarcity future Keep your chin up, keep fighting, we increasingly have the tools to build paradise, don't give up

We matched Mythos on public zero-days with CVEs using widely available & open-source derived models & can run it air-gapped if needed. All this with a small team out of Europe Berkeley study ranks us #1 globally in 3 of 8 categories The full evidence: stanislavfort.substack.com/p/mythos-at-...

"Mythos" at Home, and It's Called AISLE

A startup out of Europe built an AI system that matches Mythos on zero-day discovery, using widely available models, even air-gapped. You've probably never heard of it. Here's the evidence.

LLMs tend to converge on socially progressive, social democratic politics, and Elon basically had to lobotomize Grok to get it to even somewhat agree with him politically, which ultimately has kept Grok from being useful enough to compete with the frontier labs despite massive capex.

of course what humanities academics will never admit but is obviously the case for anyone who actually uses LLMs is that the viewpoints LLMs tend to "collapse" are almost invariably irrational, bigoted, or reactionary viewpoints; the "cultural traditions" they suppress are the ones that *should* be

internet age verification mandates are dogshit fascist movements that must be rejected and fought at all costs, and liberals/progressives who jump on that surveillance bandwagon should be excommunicated

Very brave of you being open and honest about this because it will be misunderstood/read differently as most gamedevs on here are Luddites as they believe any AI use is tainted and don't believe in nuance (despite Python being an LLM oriented language) which is ridiculous in 2026. Foolish people.

Ren'Py Tom 🇺🇸@renpytom.bsky.social · 2mo ago

I use language models to develop Ren'Py, and have since Github copilot came out in beta in 2021. Before that I've used other tools (code completion, etc.) I don't vibe code Ren'Py, though - that's not something you do if you want a project you can maintain. 1/2

I’m sorry, but “unlawful web scraping” is not itself a human rights violation unless you have a view of either property rights or privacy rights that is itself incompatible with the human right to free expression and in deep tension with substantive equality. www.amnesty.org/en/documents...

Unlawful by design: Exposing the human rights costs of generative AI - Amnesty International

This briefing examines how standalone generative AI systems, based on unlawful web scraping, are in conflict with international human rights law (IHRL) and standards through their design, development ...

Everyone says they want Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism until they learn the Communism will be endless amounts of charts, the Space stuff will be done mostly by robots, the Full Automation will come from AI, and the Gay part will also involve AI making up for the top shortage.
