I think as a country and an increasingly footballing nation too many have been Lalas-pilled into believing that success is about having "more spirit."

A huge reason to believe in Brazil was the idea that Ancelotti would have the courage to not use Neymar. Kind of unreal that he decided to sink the ship with him.

A pointless goal in a World Cup in which he wasn’t supposed to more than a mascot is a perfect capstone on Neymar’s career.

It is, if nothing else, the ending Neymar deserves.

Ancelotti set it up right, got let down by his players and then for some reason known only to him decided to believe in Neymar. And here we are.
