Rob Shaer@robshaer.bsky.social · 2d agoJunior game dev peeps - something I would advise doing is I would keep a list of each new thing or responsibility I do in my job. Just a doc somewhere where you can add stuff to it as you work. Only needs a bullet point per thing. Makes it easier to update your CV and means you wont miss anything. 👍
Andrey Surnov's concept work for Jusant in my brain again this morning. Can't think of a game set among ruins that made me more desperate to see more of its world. So few games manage such an original and rich aesthetic, so sad the team never got to make more.

Three months into the preproduction design on the new game, the shape, gameplay flow and mechanics are mapped. I picked up an old sketchbook that was full of my old hand written notes & design doodles for an old Sony PlayStation game called “Ghosthunter” from 2002. I would hand draft everything.

Honestly one of the hardest parts too is making sure others have any idea what it means too. Just slight differences between how teams use terms has caused some interesting questions ive the years lol

Add mushroom diagram and "annulus and volvas" to my 3D artist dictionary.
Already noticed some AAA games from the last few years slipping in quality due to the attack on labourers by the wealthy class and uh... I think gamers need to know it's gonna keep deteriorating in small ways, not a big bang Games will still drop for a while, but they'll be quietly worse

Our government is seriously considering to create a list of people who changed their name/gender under the recent self-identification law. This is obviously a terrible idea, especially considering the increasing popularity of the far-right party.
