anytime I read an article and the author's like "now, full disclosure, I do use Claude/ChatGPT for research/tech troubleshooting/etc" that's the last thing I read from that person

This whole thread should be used as an example of why you shouldn't disregard Covid as "just like the flu". I sympathize so much with all these people. Also, this isn't a Covid subreddit, it's r/science, over 2 million visitors per week. www.reddit.com/r/science/co...

I'm extremely against violence, but I've attended many illegal punk shows where "disguised" nazi skinheads would pepper spray around the venues to end the show. If someone shoots pepper spray in my vicinity, I'm flying kicking them. www.instagram.com/stories/fuck...

The lesson to be learned from Fauci is that trying to placate bloodthirsty reactionaries will never save your skin. During the horrible 2021-22 winter COVID surge, just after the pediatric COVID death toll doubled from 500+ to 1000+ at the start of a new school year, here is Fauci:
Anyone who still takes what Carney says at face value is a dunce.
Mark Carney just said "our support for the ICC is unequivocal" in a press conference. Also Mark Carney:
Is the air freshener budget for the White House on public record? My guess: 📈
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
As a Canadian, my view of USA Today is of a discarded paper, flying in the wind on a NYC street only to fall back to the ground, walked on by uncaring pedestrians.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Honestly When you consider the fact that kids are being repeatedly infected by COVID-19… a virus that we have seen histological evidence of nerve damage… I’m relieved the kids are doing as well as they are… 😟
Yeah but if you don’t test then you don’t have a problem. I have no idea what the fuss is. /s
My dad has started sending me ai-generated joke comics he finds on FB... I don't have the energy to have that conversation with him...

Not a big fan of the "sick, elderly and/or disabled people don't count" discourse that appears to follow public health disasters these days.
Breaking News: Two deaths in Michigan have been linked to cyclospora. Both people who had the parasite also had underlying health issues.
What if instead of starting substacks in twenty-fucking-twenty-six people learned to give one iota of a fuck about whether they want to associate themselves with nazis.
The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.
The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor
The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

I HATE cereal dust. Yes, the powder that accumulates at the bottom of cereal bags. I wish I didn't spend energy on frivolous things like this, but... Ewwwwwwwww!
I have friends dealing with chronic health issues from long covid, loved ones who lost family members to COVID, and immunocompromised friends who have to be very careful still to not get sick and die. Sorry if posting about COVID is annoying but it's not over and I wish people took it seriously.
