My column on how capital becomes a death cult. Faced with a choice between profit and human life, the radical right chooses profit. Then it tries to persuade us that mass death is what we want. It's the new phase of climate denial: accept your fate, earthlings. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Murderous heat, an endangered food supply, decimated landscapes: embrace the Mediterranean life | George Monbiot

As climate disaster stares us in the face, the radical right says ‘Embrace the Mediterranean life’. Embrace death, more like it, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

SARS-CoV-2 did not come from a lab. There is no evidence pointing to laboratory origins. There’s been a massive disinformation campaign to convince the public otherwise. It’s scary how effective that campaign has been.

Many have tried to warn, but when you enter into a fascist period and conditions worsen, you will see a lot of white moderates and "centrists" begin to act, speak, and eventually come into conversation and alliance with the Far Right.

This shouldn't be a surprise, after all, because most of the Establishment Democratic voices have tied themselves to former Republican and GOP hustlers who have branded themselves as "resistance" and have simply transported former Republican tactics and rhetoric into the Democratic Party.

I had to code and pronounce a time of death on a respiratory therapist colleague. There's a memorial plaque for her outside the emergency department to this day. I wrote and re-wrote my will. I will never forgive these ghouls trying to rewrite history and deny our experience.

RFK Jr said these words today on national television "There were ICUs that were empty all over the country including in New York at the height (of the pandemic)" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha You are a fucking idiot hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha <sobs silently>

43.PIGFACE (Crafting Update content, 2025-2026) If you don't expect a first person Manhunt, it's a solid shooter that focuses on going full ballistic or lean-heavy tactical playstyles. Penitentiary level is fucking peak with Hockey mask and Chainsaw. Expect a entry for 1.0 maybe this year.

I just saw an infectious disease doctor liken wearing a mask in 2026 to “wearing two condoms to prevent HIV” which has got to be one of the wildest, most irresponsible takes I’ve ever heard. First of all - Wearing one condom does protect you from HIV, as a well-fit respirator does from COVID!

Here in America, hundreds of thousands of children were forced to play a role in the death of a parent because they brought the virus home from unsafe schools. Lewis thinks we should have magically identified those "at risk" parents and simply homeschooled them. How fundamentally unserious.

Lewis Goodall@lewisgoodall.com · 5d ago

As a % of school age kids, how many of their family members would be vulnerable? And given it would ne small, would it not have been more sensible to homeschool that smaller cohort of children? Given most parents were not of an age and health profile to be at risk?

Gold Standard Science™ Saying that Quay is "coming from the drug industry" is like saying someone is "coming from an avalanche." The dude is currently CEO of the third publicly traded company in a row that he's run into the ground.

Quay, a physician and pathologist, would be the first NIAID director coming from the drug industry, instead of from academia or the leagues of scientists at its parent agency, the National Institutes of Health. Quay also does not have formal training in infectious diseases.

When the National Institutes of Health made an open call for applicants last year, Quay applied. NIH staff reviewed applications and did not advance him to the interview stage, according to one of the people familiar with the process. But Kennedy selected Quay over those finalists who were interviewed, and the NIH signed off on his hiring last week.

I recently read Quay's new book. Now he's reportedly been tapped to lead NIAID. Not only is his book full what are plainly lies, it also reflects a person who can't keep tabs on reality. www.politico.com/news/2026/08...
