tepid take for letterer appreciation day: if manga translators ever get a 2x raise (hah), letterers deserve 3x. 4x if we're talking full SFX/signage retouch. and more for rush simuls where they have like ~24h to get it done. anything less is unlivable, and an insult to their time and skills

Wrong. Goku would simply be disinterested in Road Runner because he displays cunning not strength. Vegeta on the other hand, would spend 5 episodes of B story getting his shit rocked.

if you're a normal person please do not play the fucking strip mahjong game. do not let the fun and friendly appeal of something as inoffensive as pornography trick you into playing a game as evil as mahjong
So, for the non video game nerds: the top 3 hardest things to do in video games is 1. animate changing clothing 2. handing one item to another char 3. Lying under covers in bed. So from a technical perspective, this weird ass Strip Mahjong game is like writing Beethoven's 9th, but for gooning.

I want to listen to more light novel audiobooks though. so far the only series I've listened to all the way through was I'm in love with the villainess which I highly recommend because courtney shaw is somehow the perfect rae AND the perfect claire and the performance is so good the whole time
was listening to a yen press audiobook that named the translator (jenny mckeon of course) and I was like, huh, I wonder if they pronounce my name right in the audiobooks that have been made of my translations, but of course, my books were not with yen, so I did not have to worry about that. phew!
but I'm going to the beach next week and that will fix me : )
even now, I thought I would be in between projects when this trip was first planned but I got a schedule change in the middle of a book I was doing and there is just. no room to negotiate on things like that. so even this planned trip is going to be during time I Should Be Working
and if you take a break anyway. that is just time you should have been working which you have to make up for later
I really think this might be the first purposeful week I've taken off of work in like. my whole career. being a translator is so like. you get to the end of a project and think "oh I'll be able to take a break now" but there is always a next project. immediately.
my mental health is hinging so precariously on this vacation next week I really need it to solve all of my problems forever
