Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

People still complain about “lockdowns” but we had none in the US. We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.

This keeps making me more and more mad. How the hell do you say you’re doing journalism when you do this? You have to literally create an imaginary world to make this a show of strength from Trump. It’s the opposite of a threat; it’s an admission of weakness.

What a horribly bad framing. The president can’t get his own party to vote for his own nominee that they confirmed for the next-rung-lower role just last year! That’s not a “threat,” you incompetent people.

Odd article, premised on idea that Warsh is a big inflation fighter and needs to act early to confirm that rep for markets. But Warsh got the job because the Prez wanted LOOSE monetary policy. He can stiff the president, sure. But what's the basis of the assumption? www.nytimes.com/2026/07/30/b...

Markets Challenge Warsh’s Approach to Taming Inflation

Kevin M. Warsh has made controlling inflation the top priority of his tenure as Federal Reserve chairman. But his hesitancy to embrace the possibility of higher borrowing costs has sparked a backlash.

An X post by user @BrianAtlas that reads: "Hiplet trend of men refusing to date women with hip dips is INFURIATING women. If it’s okay for women to have a height preference, it’s okay for men to prefer to date women without hip dips." It comes with a diagram.

Aright I followed the main character for like a day because I was annoyed by people who were annoyed by him but I’d like to own that is he definitely very annoying.

When coding with AI agents, you quickly realize that generating code is becoming cheap and fast, while verification (testing, reviewing, securing, and integrating it) remains the real bottleneck and still requires substantial human oversight. 🤷
