I love LEGO I love SF&F I use colorful phraseology in real life, but not on social media I have no tolerance for MAGA or fascism (but I repeat myself) He/Him/His

The next time you hear Republicans in Congress complaining about the national debt, remember that roughly 25% of it has been added during Trump's presidencies — largely thanks to his tax cuts for the rich. The notion that Republicans care about the debt is one of the biggest lies in politics.

Here are things that happened at the DNC today: 1) Resolution calling to abolish ICE unanimously adopted 2) Brand-new early state calendar that reflects the full diversity of the Democratic base 3) Rejection of insider efforts to ban RCV from being used in presidential primaries Great results here

An insurance card from birth till death. That’s what Medicare for All provides — no more private insurance premiums, copays, deductibles, or denials of care from greedy companies. No losing your healthcare if you lose your job. Universal healthcare as a human right.

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.

To me, the foundational tension of modern AI is this: If the stated goal is to create a human-level intelligence that can replace human workers but lacks human rights, then the real aspiration is slavery; but if human-level intelligence is impossible, then the industry's stated goal is a lie.

Today would've been Walter "Matt" Jefferies' 105th birthday. 60 years after the spaceship he designed along with the entire aesthetic he envisioned first hit TV screens, they continue to inform and inspire #StarTrek production design in every incarnation of Gene Roddenberry's creation to this day.

Y'know, you can just replace every major media "Moderate Democrats Are Terrified and Repulsed by Popular Left-Wing Stuff" story with "We Interviewed One Stupid Fucking Asshole Who Hasn't Voted Dem Since 1992" in your mind's eye and lower your blood pressure considerably.

A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"

Legal immigration as most Americans conceive of it does not meaningfully exist in the United States. "Just come here the right way" is one of the most pernicious lies in contemporary US politics, accepted across the aisle as the goal of the immigration debate when it's impossible in reality.

Always asking how to accommodate trolls and racists... If the Bluesky PTB try to force that accommodation, through an algorithm or ending the nuclear block, this place will end up just like Twitter, a conservative echo chamber.

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

I saw yesterday that some right-wing outlets were running stories about me, which I’m used to. But this time I’m going to say something about it, because these were framed to imply that I was aligned with their own transphobia. ⬇️
